Brayden's P.O.V

I walk down the hall to my locker, books in hand. I was never the most popular one here, but it was always alright thanks to my books. With them around, I was never bored. I always had something to absorb myself in. I slowly mumble the code to myself as I open my locker. "32...87...12..." I pull on the handle, when a note comes floating out. I pick it up and start to examine the envelope. On the back of the crisp paper, it says the words: To Brayden. Now this was odd. I almost never got notes.

I slowly peel it open and take out the flimsy lined paper. I unfolded it, and read the short letter.

Dear Brayden, i'm not sure if you ever notice me, but i'm there. I sit next to you in social studies, stand a row back in language arts, watch you write in science. I have always been wanting to talk to you, just start a simple conversation, so let's do it now, shall we? A few things you need to know about me: First of all, I think that you're extremely handsome. Second, I wish that you'd tell me what books you're reading. They really seem to interest you. And lastly, i'm in the football field. Meet me there. -R

I could feel a blush creeping up on my cheeks as I pull away from the detailed note. No one has ever liked me before... I'm not even sure if I myself had liked anyone. Actually, I guess that I have. One person, his name is Ryan. In middle school, we were really close friends, but when high school came, we drifted apart. I don't really know why, we just started hanging out with new people. I fumble with my locker door and shut it, carefully placing the note inside my jacket pocket. I start to make my way across the hall and towards the field.

I slowly start to walk onto the massive green patch, not seeing anyone remotely familiar. I look around for a few more moments, when I sport someone on the other end of the track. I can't make out his face, but it looks like he's holding something. I start walking until he's in view. It's... Ryan. I start walking slower until we're only three feet away. "I'm glad that you came." He says, almost nervously. "These are for you." He hands me a big bouquet of red roses. "I'm not sure if you figured this out, but i've had a crush on you since the eighth grade. Your eyes, your smile, your laugh... it's all perfect to me. I never had the confidence to tell you this until now." My eyes start to water as he speaks these words of admiration. "I know that we have been drifting apart, but it's just because I was scared. I couldn't stand being around someone as amazing as you, without knowing you had the same feelings for me. I know that this line is a bit over used, but will you go out with me Brayden?" I smile and start to nod my head. "Of course I will." He laughs and pulls me into a hug. This is by far one of the best moments of my life.
