The morning light filtered softly through the hospital room window, casting a warm glow over the space. Kyo had barely slept, staying close to Tohru's side throughout the night, his worry etched deeply into his features.

The doctor entered the room with a reassuring smile. "Good news—Tohru's condition has improved significantly, and we're comfortable discharging her today. She'll need to continue her antibiotics and get plenty of rest, but she can recover at home."

Kyo's eyes widened with relief. "Thank you. We'll take good care of her."

Tohru, though still visibly tired, looked up at Kyo with a gentle smile. "I'm really looking forward to going home."

Kyo helped Tohru carefully get dressed and packed up her things, his hands shaking slightly from fatigue and anxiety. He was determined to make sure she was comfortable and safe, but his exhaustion was becoming increasingly evident.

"Are you sure you're up for this?" Kyo asked, his voice filled with concern as he helped Tohru into a wheelchair provided by the hospital.

Tohru nodded, placing a reassuring hand on his. "I'm fine, Kyo. But I can see that you're exhausted. Please, try to relax. You need to take care of yourself too."

Kyo hesitated, his brow furrowing with worry. "I just want to make sure you're okay. I don't want anything to go wrong."

Tohru smiled softly, her eyes filled with warmth. "I understand, but your health is important too. Let's get home, and once we're there, we can both rest. I promise I'll be okay."

Kyo sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. "Alright. But if you need anything, you let me know."

With the discharge paperwork completed and the wheelchair ride over, Kyo helped Tohru into the car and drove them back to their home. The journey was quiet, Kyo's attention focused solely on getting Tohru home safely.

When they finally arrived, Kyo carefully helped Tohru inside and settled her in bed, ensuring she had everything she might need within reach. The house was a sanctuary of calm, a stark contrast to the intensity of the hospital.

Tohru looked at Kyo, who was pacing anxiously. "Kyo, why don't you come lay with me? You need to rest too."

Kyo shook his head. "I'm fine. I just want to make sure everything's perfect for you."

Tohru's eyes softened with affection. "Kyo, I'm going to be okay. You've done so much for me. Let me help you now. Please, just lie down and relax. We can be together and rest."

Kyo looked at her, the exhaustion on his face finally overtaking his concern. He nodded and settled down next to Tohru on the couch, still keeping an eye on her but allowing himself to relax for the first time in days.

Tohru rested her head on his shoulder, her hand finding his. "Thank you for everything, Kyo. I'm grateful for your love and care. Now, let's just be here together and take it easy."

Kyo wrapped an arm around her, feeling the warmth and comfort of her presence. "I'm sorry I was so worried. I just... I couldn't help it."

Tohru smiled, her voice soothing. "It's okay. I know you care deeply, and that means everything to me. Let's just focus on getting better together."

They sat in comfortable silence, the worries of the past few days beginning to melt away. Kyo's exhaustion caught up with him, and he found himself drifting into a peaceful sleep, Tohru's soft breathing and gentle presence a calming balm.

As the hours passed, the house was filled with a serene calmness, and Kyo and Tohru finally had the chance to relax and recharge. Together, they embraced the quiet moments, knowing that their journey of recovery was just beginning, but they would face it together, side by side.
