Kyo woke up feeling somewhat confused, his throat burned and his head felt disheveled. Something just felt off. He was about to head downstairs for some water when he heard a faint, distressed sound coming from the hallway. His heart leaped into his throat, and he hurriedly followed the noise to the bathroom.
He pushed the door open and was met with a troubling sight. Tohru was sitting on the floor, her back against the wall. Her breathing was ragged, and tears streamed down her face. Kyo's worry intensified as he rushed to her side.
"Tohru, what's wrong?" he asked urgently, kneeling beside her. "What happened?"
Tohru looked up at him, her eyes filled with anguish. "I was just trying to use the bathroom, but I felt so weak and dizzy. I couldn't breathe properly. I'm so sorry, Kyo."
Kyo's heart ached at her distress. He gently helped her into a sitting position, supporting her as she struggled to regain her breath. "It's okay. You don't have to apologize. Just focus on breathing. I'm here to help."
He guided her through deep, calming breaths, encouraging her to inhale slowly and exhale gently. As her breathing began to steady, he helped her to her feet, his concern still evident. "Let's get you back to bed. You need to rest."
With his arm around her for support, Kyo carefully assisted Tohru back to the bedroom. He helped her sit on the edge of the bed, making sure she was comfortable before pulling the covers up around her.
Tohru looked up at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and sadness. "I feel so useless. I wanted to be strong for you, but I couldn't even manage this. I'm so sorry."
Kyo gently stroked her hair, his voice filled with reassurance. "Tohru, you're not useless. You've been through so much, and it's okay to have moments when you need help. You're doing your best, and that's more than enough. I'm here for you, no matter what."
He adjusted the blankets around her and made sure she was warm and comfortable. "Just rest now. You don't need to worry about anything else. I'll stay with you."
Tohru's breathing slowly returned to normal as she settled into the bed, her eyes softening with relief. "Thank you, Kyo. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Kyo sat beside her, taking her hand in his. "And you'll never have to find out. I'm here, and I'll always be here to support you. We'll get through this together."
Tohru smiled weakly, her eyes closing as she began to relax. Kyo remained by her side, his own exhaustion fading into the background as he focused on her well-being. He watched over her with unwavering care, knowing that their bond and mutual support would see them through the challenges ahead.
As Tohru drifted back to sleep, Kyo felt a renewed sense of determination. He would continue to be the rock she needed, and together, they would face whatever came their way, side by side. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
