Kyo watched her breathing steadily now, the oxygen mask helping her get the air she needed. Her face, though pale, seemed more peaceful.

Kyo knew he needed to let someone know what was happening. He stepped out of Tohru's room and pulled out his phone, dialing Shigure's number with shaky hands. The phone barely rang once before Shigure picked up.

"Kyo? What's going on? Is everything alright?" Shigure answered abruptly, voice filled with concern. Kyo was never one to call in the middle of the night, let alone call unless needed. Tohru tended to be the one who kept in touch regularly.

Kyo took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "It's Tohru. She was having trouble breathing, and we rushed to the hospital. The doctors said she has a severe case of pneumonia."

There was a brief silence on the other end before Shigure spoke again, his voice calm but firm. "We'll be there as soon as we can. Hang in there, Kyo."

Kyo ended the call and returned to Tohru's room, sitting by her side once more. He held her hand gently, his mind racing with worry. Despite the doctor's reassurances, seeing Tohru so vulnerable and unwell was almost more than he could bear.

Not long after, Shigure, Hatori, and Yuki arrived at the hospital. They found Kyo in the waiting area outside Tohru's room, his expression a mix of fear and exhaustion. Shigure immediately went to him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Kyo, how is she?" Shigure asked, his voice filled with concern.

Kyo looked up, his eyes red-rimmed. "She's stable for now. They have her on oxygen and antibiotics. The doctor said she has a severe case of pneumonia. I just... I don't know what to do."

Hatori, always the calm presence, stepped forward. "Pneumonia can be very serious, but it sounds like she's getting the care she needs. The most important thing now is for her to rest and for you to stay calm."

Yuki nodded, his usually stoic face softened with worry. "Yeah stupid cat, she's strong and stubborn. "

Kyo huffed out a small excuse for a laugh. "I guess you're right Rat-Boy. I just want her to be okay." Their presence and support meaning more than Kyo would ever admit.

Shigure gave Kyo's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "She will be. Tohru is strong, and she's getting the best care. You just need to take care of yourself too. She'll need you to be strong for her."

Hatori looked at Kyo seriously. "You've been under a lot of stress. Why don't you take a moment to step outside, and get some fresh air? We'll stay here with Tohru."

Kyo hesitated, not wanting to leave Tohru's side, but he knew Hatori was right. He needed to take a moment to collect himself, especially in front of the former rat. "Okay, just for a minute."

He stood up and walked out of the hospital, taking a deep breath of the cool night air. The fresh air helped clear his mind, and he felt some of the tension start to ease from his shoulders. After a few moments, he turned back and re-entered the hospital, feeling slightly more composed.

When he returned to Tohru's room, he found Shigure, Hatori, and Yuki sitting quietly by her bedside. The room was filled with a comforting silence, the steady beep of the heart monitor providing a reassuring rhythm.

Shigure looked up as Kyo entered, a small smile on his face. "Feeling better?"

Kyo nodded. "Yeah, a bit. Thanks, I guess.."

Hatori stood and gave Kyo a nod. "We'll stay for as long as you need us. Tohru is in good hands, and so are you."

Yuki placed a hand on Kyo's shoulder. "Remember, you're not alone in this. We're all here for both of you, idiot."

Kyo gave his best a smile. He sat down next to Tohru, taking her hand in his once more, feeling a renewed sense of hope and strength.
