Jake and Jungwon arrived at the university, their clothes still damp from the rain. Jake quickly glanced around to make sure no one was watching as they stepped off the bus. The campus was bustling with students hurrying to their classes, but Jungwon's hoodie kept him inconspicuous. They made their way to the entrance, blending into the crowd. Despite the chaos of the morning, no one seemed to notice the famous singer walking among them. Jungwon kept his head down, avoiding eye contact, but a luxury car suddenly pulled up to the curb, catching everyone's attention.
A man stepped out of the car and called out, "Jungwon!" The familiar voice made Jungwon tense up. He recognized Riki, his bodyguard. Heads turned and whispers spread through the crowd.
"Oh my God, it's Jungwon!" "How did we not see Jake?" "Why is Jungwon wearing a hoodie instead of his uniform?"
Jungwon felt a flush of embarrassment as he walked towards Riki. He took the uniform and bag from him, trying to ignore the stares and murmurs around him. "Why did you run away again?" Riki asked quietly, concern etched on his face.Jungwon struggled to find an answer.
"I just... needed some time alone," he mumbled. Riki's expression turned serious as he lowered his voice.
"You know your father and Jay will be furious. They've been calling you nonstop. They're going to assault you for this."
Jungwon's looked down. "Please, don't tell them ," he pleaded. "I can't deal with them right now."
Riki sighed, clearly disappointed, but nodded. "Alright. I won't say anything. But you need to be careful, Jungwon."
"Thank you, Riki," Jungwon whispered, grateful for his friend's understanding. Riki gave a brief nod and turned to leave, his presence having already caused enough commotion.Jake watched the exchange, worry creasing his brow. As Riki drove away, the crowd around them grew larger, eager to catch a glimpse of Jungwon. "Come on," Jake said, guiding Jungwon through the throng of curious students. "Let's get inside before it gets any crazier."
They finally made it through the entrance, the whispers and excitement following them like a shadow. Jungwon kept his head down, feeling the weight of the attention and the pressure from his family. But with Jake by his side, he felt a small measure of comfort amidst the chaos.
In the PE changing room, Jake and Jungwon found a quiet corner away from prying eyes. Jungwon unzipped his hoodie and began changing into his uniform, his movements slow and methodical. Jake leaned against the lockers, watching him with a concerned expression.
"That was close," Jake said, breaking the silence. "I'm sorry about the attention back there. I didn't think Riki would show up like that."
Jungwon shrugged, pulling on his uniform shirt. "It's not your fault. Riki's just doing his job. My dad probably sent him to keep an eye on me." He sighed, running a hand through his damp hair. "It's just... exhausting, you know? Always having to hide and keep up appearances."
