Hope stepped into her favorite cafe, the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods greeting her immediately. The place was bustling with activity, yet it always felt like a little haven from the outside world. She made her way to the counter, glancing at the menu even though she already knew what she wanted.
As she waited in line, she heard a familiar voice behind her. "Hope? Is that you?"
She turned around, a smile spreading across her face when she recognized Jaemin. He was casually dressed, his hair slightly tousled, and he had that easygoing charm that always seemed to draw people in.
"Jaemin! Long time no see," she greeted him warmly, giving him a quick hug.
"It's been ages," Jaemin replied, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "What have you been up to?"
"Oh, you know, the usual—tours, interviews, trying to dodge the drama," Hope said with a laugh. "How about you? Still modeling for music videos?"
Jaemin nodded. "Yep, and a few other projects. Keeps me busy."
They reached the counter, and Hope ordered her usual iced latte with a hint of caramel. Jaemin ordered an espresso, and they moved to a cozy corner table to catch up.
"So, how's life treating you?" Jaemin asked as they settled into their seats.
"Pretty good, actually," Hope said, stirring her drink. "I'm in a really good place right now. I've got a great team, and things are looking up."
Jaemin raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in his eye. "A great team, huh? Anyone special on that team?"
Hope chuckled, feeling a slight blush creep up her cheeks. "Maybe. You could say I'm seeing someone... well, two someones, actually."
Jaemin leaned in, clearly intrigued. "Two? Do tell."
She smiled, thinking of Mark and Haechan. "Yeah, it's a bit unconventional, but it works for us. They're amazing, and I'm really happy."
Jaemin nodded appreciatively. "I'm glad to hear that. You deserve all the happiness in the world. So, what's new on the professional front?"
"Well, I'm working on some new music," Hope said. "And I'm considering bringing in some new talent for the next tour. It's been a bit crazy with everything going on."
Jaemin sipped his espresso, looking thoughtful. "New talent, huh? That sounds exciting. If you need any help scouting, let me know. I've got a few connections that might be useful."
"That would be great, actually," Hope said, her eyes lighting up. "I'll definitely keep that in mind. What about you? Any exciting projects coming up?"
"Nothing too crazy," Jaemin said with a shrug. "Just a few shoots here and there. But I'm always on the lookout for something new and challenging."
They continued to chat, the conversation flowing easily as they reminisced about old times and shared their latest experiences. Jaemin's flirtation was playful but persistent, his eyes often lingering on hers and his compliments frequent.
"You know," Jaemin said, leaning closer, "if this whole music thing doesn't work out, you could always model. You've got the look for it."
Hope laughed, shaking her head. "Thanks, but I think I'll stick to singing."
"Can't blame a guy for trying," Jaemin said with a wink. "You're just too talented, Hope. It's hard not to be impressed."
As they finished their drinks, Jaemin leaned back, a satisfied smile on his face. "This was fun. We should do it more often."
"Definitely," Hope agreed. "It's always good to catch up with old friends."
Jaemin stood up, giving her a quick hug. "Take care, Hope. And good luck with everything. Let's stay in touch."
"You too, Jaemin," Hope said, returning the hug. "Don't be a stranger."
