Chapter 2

The hearing was 4 days ago

I was just laying in my bed, feeling the breeze of fresh air, looking at the ceiling wondering if what's wrong with me, why are they accusing me of something I could never do.

I let out a deep sigh and got up from bed.

Bumaba na'ko at pumunta na kaagad sa kusina, nadatnan ko naman na naghahanda sina ate Gie nang umagahan.

"Andito kana pala, Mayora. Umupo jo muna kayo, patapos na rin itong niluluto ko" saad ni Ate Gie, tumango nalang ako at umupo

"May pupuntahan ka ba ngayon?" Tanong ni ate Gie

"Pupunta po akong Senate Building, may ipapasa lang pong mga documents kay Senator." Sagot ko

Ate Gie and Manang prepared the breakfast; tuyo, scrambled eggs, hotdogs and soup. After they prepared all the dishes, kumain kaagad kami.

I went back to my room and dressed up. I'm just wearing a simple black dress.

I went downstairs; I was shocked as I saw donya sitting in the sofa, waiting for me to come down.

Donya was my friend since we are in college, she's  already engaged with the man he met in California.

"Ali!!" She approached and hugged me; I hugged her back.

"What are you doing here? I thought nasa California ka?" I asked

"Umuwi ako kanina, dito namin balak magpakasal." She answered

"Where is he?" I asked, looking for her fiancee

"Nasa bahay, nagpaalam naman ako na pupunta ako dito. Hindi ko na siya sinama kase pagod na sa byahe." Mahabang pahayag niya, tumango naman ako

"Ikaw, saan ang punta mo? You look stunning" she complimented me, I smiled.

"Sa Senate building, may ipapasang documents" I sighed

"Kaya mo ’yan, Ikaw pa ba?" She assured me that makes me smile.

Si Donya lang ’yung takbuhan ko sa tuwing may problema ako. When the issue started, she's the one who called me and asked me If I'm okay. I'm so lucky to have a friend like her.

"Hatid na kita, may iimbitahin din ako eh, Mommy's friend. I don't know her name, but mommy gave me her address." She stated

"Huwag na, kaya ko namang mag maneho" sagot ko, tumango naman siya

"Mauna na'ko, babalik pa'ko ng Munisipyo after kung ibigay ito" I showed her the brown envelope

"Sabay na tayo, aalis na rin ako" saad niya

"Alicia, hinay hinay sa pagmamaneho. I know you!" Pagsaway niya, she knows how I drive; laging overspeeding.

"And also, tawagan nalang kita kung kailan ka pupunta ng bahay for my bridal shower!" She added.

"Oo na!" I shouted back, laughing and started my engine.

I'm on my way to the Senate building and think to stopped by the Starbucks to by some coffee.

I'm here at the Senate building, thinking kung saan ang office ni Senator Risa, so I asked one of their employees.

"Hi, good morning. Saan po dito yung office ni Senator Risa?" I asked

"Good morning po, nasa 3rd floor po tapos nasa gilid lang ng hallway papuntang senate room, may nakalagay naman po na name sa door niya." The employee explained. I thanked him and leave

"Office of the Senator Risa Hontiveros" I read the name na nakadikit sa office door niya

I let out a deep sigh and knocked.
