Risa’s POV
The morning light, filtering through the gauzy curtains, painted the room in a soft, ethereal glow. I normally have sharp features softened by sleep, stirred, a gentle smile playing on my lips. I stretched, my hand instinctively reaching out, finding the warmth of another body nestled beside her.
My eyes fluttered open, and a gasp escaped my lips. She was lying in bed, her arm wrapped around me, our bodies pressed together, our limbs intertwined. The sight of Alice, her face flushed and her hair escaping its usual perfect bun, sent a jolt of surprise through me.
"Alice?" I whispered, my voice thick with confusion.
Her eyes wide with panic, jolted upright, her hand flying to her chest as if to ward off a physical blow. Her face was a mask of shame and fear, her breath coming in ragged gasps.
"Oh my God," she stammered, her voice barely audible. "I- I didn't... I didn't realize..."
"Alice, it's okay, calm down" I said, my voice soothing, though my own mind was racing. "It's just... we were both drunk, that's all."
"Alice, about what happened." panimula ko, naramdaman ko naman na hinawakanan niya ang mga kamay ko "Let's just forget what happened last night" sabi ko at binawi ang aking kamay sa pagkakahawak niya.
"b-but Risa—" I cut her off
"Alice, yung nangyari kagabi ay hindi dapat nangyari. Mali ang ginawa natin, pareho tayong lasing"
"Ikaw lang ang lasing, Risa" she uttered
"Alice, do me a favor, please?"
"ano ‘yun?"
"Forget about me and what happened last night, Let's just act like nothing’s happened." I stated
she's now crying in front of me
"I'm a senator, and you're a Mayor. You're not just a mayor, pinaghihinalaan ka; ako ang humahawak ng kaso mo, ako ang magiging dahilan kung mapatalsik ka sa pagiging Mayora." I explained to her, calmly
"Then, I don't care!" she shouted, as tears slowly fell from her eyes.
hindi ko siya pwedeng sabayan sa galit niya dahil magsisigawan lang kami dito.
"Hey, look at me" I held her face at mas nilapit pa ang aking mukha sa kanya "Bamban needs you, they need you." I said and kissed her forehead.
"I love you, Risa."
"It was just one night, Alice. You'll forget about me." I stated
"I don't care if it's just one night, Risa." she answered
"Alice, try to understand me. Hindi pwede" I said, trying to make her understand the situation
"Risa, I—" I cut her off again.
"magbihis kana, kanina pa naghihintay sina Don sa baba" sabi ko at umalis na parang walang nangyare.
With that, I turned and fled the room, leaving her alone, My heart heavy with a mixture of confusion, disappointment, and a lingering sense of unease. The morning light, once a symbol of hope and renewal, now felt cold and unforgiving, a cruel reminder of the line we had crossed and the consequences we would have to face.
Alice’s POV
She left me flabbergasted because of what she said.
I understood Risa’s fear, the potential consequences of our actions, the damage it could inflict on our careers and reputations. But I also felt a pang of disappointment, a sense of being rejected, of my own feelings being dismissed.
