"Danielle it's time for your-" Ms. Park stepped in. "Oh Haerin, hi again!"
Haerin turned, startled by the sudden entrance of Ms. Park. She gave a quick wave.
"Hi, Ms. Park," she greeted, forcing a smile. "I'm just visiting for a bit."
"Rosie, can you give me a second?" Danielle asked Ms. Park.
The woman nodded and stepped out.
Haerin watched as Ms. Park left the room, leaving her and Danielle alone again.
"Give me your hand."
Haerin was taken back by the sudden request, but she didn't hesitate. She held out her hand, offering it to Danielle.
Danielle took a pen out of her night table and wrote something on her palm.
Haerin watched in curiosity as Danielle scribbled onto her skin. She felt a faint tingle as the pen moved across her skin, leaving a trail of writing.
"What are you writing?" she asked, craning her neck to see the numbers being formed on her palm.
"My number, so we can talk, if you want," Danielle said smiling.
Haerin smiled back at Danielle, touched by the simple but thoughtful gesture. She looked down at her hand, admiring the way Danielle's handwriting looked against her skin.
"Thanks," she said quietly. "I'll make sure to use it sometime.""Alright, colorblind girl," Danielle laughed. "I think I have to go now."
Haerin rolled her eyes at Danielle's playful nickname, shaking her head in mock annoyance.
"Rub it in why don't you," she said, trying to sound annoyed but failing to hide her grin. "I'll make sure to keep you updated on how the darkness is treating me."
"Please do," Danielle laughed.

It's been 3 days since Haerin and Danielle talked.
Haerin has been busy with her tests. I mean she could have connected her but the moment she finished her tests during the days she had no energy to call or text.
But Danielle didn't mind.
She just simply knew. She often asked Ms. Park how she was and what was going on. So she wasn't worried at all.
Haerin was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling in her room. She just had woken up from her nap after all the reflex tests and CT.
She glanced over at her bedside table where her phone was charging.
It was past 3 am now and Haerin couldn't sleep back. She hated these times, when she couldn't fall back asleep. It was always stressing her out.
Suddenly her phone rang, startling her from her thinking. The sudden voice scared the holy spirit out of her.
Confused but curious, she answered the call.
"Hallo?" she said, a hint of surprise in her voice.
Who would call at this hour?
"Hey, it's me, Danielle. I didn't wake you, did I?" Danielle asked, her tone almost scared.
Haerin's felt herself lighten She really wanted to speak to her again.
"No, no I couldn't sleep," she replied.
"That's good to hear then, I didn't want to wake you or anything. I thought you were sleeping tho, it's kinda late," Danielle said laughing.
