Friday night,dim lighting,jazz music and beer.
Karl was at a college party.
A house on the country,a few minutes outside of town.
It was calm,relaxed.
The record player played 50s jazz while people mingled all over the classic retro typical-American home.
Karl was standing against the wall,playing candy crush on his phone with a lukewarm beer in his other hand.

This wasn't what he expected out of a college party at all.
Highschool parties were rough because you had practically nothing to lose,but Karl expected college parties to be even rougher since most people there were finally old enough to drink and do drugs.
Instead,the person who threw this house party was clearly going for a vintage vibe.
But Karl actually preferred this.
It was calm,everyone seemed to be in a good mood,nice music and spunky jazz.

He hated being hungover,rude drunk people and the smell of 30 different weed strains all in one room cramped with a bunch of teenagers.
Although Karl was kinda planning on seeing some action tonight,this was more of a 'someones about to bust out a acoustic guitar' kinda party.
Again,karl didn't mind.
He looked back down at his phone and continued to play candy crush while taking a sip of his beer every few minutes.
Everything went fine,until someone approached him.

"The cure,huh?"
Karl looked up,there was now a guy talking to him.
Karl looked at him.
Judging by this guys tone and outfit,Karl already had a hunch of what this guy represented.
Karl looked down at his sweater.
It had 'THE CURE' written on it.
Karl smiled at the black haired guy.
Karl:"yeah"
Quackity:"heh...name 5 songs"

Karl just stared at him.
He couldn't believe it.
Was he getting hit on by a MALE MANIPULATOR? Out in the WILD?
Karl was honored.
Honored that he had the privilege to experience making fun of this guy in real life.
Karl:"no"
Karl said,the same polite smile on his face.
Quackity:"..why?"
Karl:"because i can't"
The guy laughed,a little confused.

Quackity:"bro,then why are you wearing that shirt.."
He said,trying not to make it obvious that he was annoyed.
Karl put his phone in his back pocket.
This was much more interesting than candy crush.
Karl:"becauseeee it was on sale at Walmart?"
The guy now had a competitive smile on his face.
Quackity:"sooooo your a poser?"
Karl shook his head,still smiling.

Quackity:"but you can't name 5 songs?"
Karl:"yeah,cause I don't have to"
Quackity:"what do you mean?"
Karl:"I don't have to be able to name five songs to wear this shirt,I don't care about the cure."
Karl could tell that that last comment caught the guy a little off guard,so he kept on going.
Karl:"I actually couldn't give less of a shit about the cure,they suck anyway"
The guy scoffed like he was ready to yell at Karl.

Quackity:"okay,first of all-!"
Karl:"the cure can actually suck my ass."
The guy stopped talking.
He just looked at Karl.
Karl made it clear in his expression that he wasn't about to apologize.
The guy slowly nodded.
Quackity:"...what's your name?"
Karl:"I'm Karl"
Quackity:"I'm Quackity."
He put his hand out for Karl to shake.

Karl tried to hide his laughter as he shook it.
Karl:"Quackity,I know everything about you"
Quackity:"what makes you say that?"
Karl looked him up and down.
Karl:"you love the joker,you listen to deftones,
You hate brain rot,you love wine and coffee,
You HATE everything mainstream and you LOVE judging people-"
Quackity:"I actually prefer American psycho"
Karl:"Jesus Christ.."
Karl laughed.

Karl:"Quackity,I HATE to be the one to tell you this but you are the most BASIC person at this party!"
Quackity laughed.
Quackity:"wh- that's not even true?!"
Karl:"QUACKITY LOVES POPMUSIC"
Karl yelled loudly with his hands next to his mouth.
Quackity:"Jesus- stop!"
He put his hand over his mouth as he looked around embarrassed,but laughing.
He looked at Karl and shoved him before he pulled away.
