Just got done binging a bunch of their videos because I felt like my writing didn't really feel like their content (which is to be expected but still I wanna keep it minimized) so hopefully I can fucking nail this chapter 😼😼😼

(Chester's pov)

At around 7 in the morning I woke up to the sound of sirens and someone screaming down the hall. I grabbed my sunglasses and stuffed them on my face, then turned to my side to see Parker was somehow dead asleep.

"Bro wake up!" I whisper shouted shaking him violently.

"What the fuck? What time-?" His voice cut off as he heard the sirens, and a look of worry and confusion fell upon him.

We exchanged a look and threw the covers off us racing to the door. However he stopped short, and turned to me speaking in a very serious tone.

"Let's be careful, we don't know what's going on." I rolled my eyes feeling lucky to be covered my shades.

"Bro I know, let's just go see what's going on." I replied hastily, reaching for the door.

He gave me a look of disapproval, but kept his mouth shut as we cracked the door open revealing a truly horrific seen. I immediately felt sick my stomach.

Someone had called the paramedics who were now carrying out the stiff frail body of a man from Nicole's room. It connected with in my brain this was probably Claire's bed ridden father who had succumbed to his condition. Although I only got a brief glimpse of the body before it was brought out, my last meal threatened to resurface.

The man was wearing a hospital gown soiled with the stains of human misery. A dark liquid poured from his mouth soaking the front of his gown and staining his face. And the worst part was his eyes. Sunken in and glazed over giving the impression he'd been dead for several hours now.

I covered my face turning away, as Parker followed suit pulling my into an embrace. Shutting my eyes tight I leaned into him.

"We need to leave." I whispered.

"They need help now more than ever we can't just abandon them." He quietly argued.

"Bro this is clearly some type of black mold that's poisoning them! We're not immune to getting sick, and I don't want us to get hurt." I looked at him pleadingly.

"Look let's just see what the situation is first." And with that he released me and walked over to Claire, who stood crying on the hallway.

"Claire?" He asked reaching out for her.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" She slapped his hand away and burst into tears once more.

"I'm so sorry about all of this." His said gesturing to the entire scene.

"I don't care! Chester!" She cried out and ran to me.

I looked at her in utter bewilderment right before she threw herself into my arms. As much as I hated holding her, I knew it'd be cruel to push her away. So instead my eyes trained on Parker, looking for guidance. Instead of helping me he suddenly took a profound interest in the floor, and no amount of my desperation turned his head. So I turned my attention back to the crying girl clutching me, slightly panicking.

"I'm sorry.." Was all I could think of to say.

Luckily she didn't really seem to care, as she relaxed into my arms. I didn't know what to make of her weeping. I mean I understood the reason for her tears. But why was she taking comfort in my arms and not her mother's?
