“I still can’t believe you and Jameson broke up- you two were the it couple.”

A light pout tugged on the corners of the blonde’s pink lips, a small ‘v’ shaped crease forming between her brows as she cornered the cafe’s menu with her finger. Her friend silently rolled her paper straw in circles within her thick chocolate drink, a sigh escaping her in response.

“Not all relationships last Chlo. Me and Jameson just weren’t happy together. It was a fair agreement.” She tried to persuade the blonde, who rolled her eyes. “I know someone isn’t too joyful over this arrangement. He’s been complaining and crying to me the whole time I was over at his house for dinner. My aunt even had to step in and practically wrestle him off me when he was begging me to talk to you. Can’t you just take him back already? He said he was sorry?”

She suggested with a laid back attitude, and her levity towards (Y/n)‘s plights was, in all honesty, ticking her off.

“Can’t you just leave it?” She scowled, and Chloé’s brows arched. “Why are you getting all angry with me? We’re friends aren’t we? I’m just trying to prevent you from making a mistake. I’m sorry, but you’re being kinda ungrateful right now. My cousin is one of the only nice guys around.” She scoffed.

(Y/n) closed her eyes and took a breath. She needed to get her wits together and her emotions in control.

“Listen Chloé.. I’m not saying you’re a bad friend for trying to see me in a happy relationship. But Jameson and I- we’ll never work. I mean, his signature phrase for anything I tell him is, “damn, that’s crazy. You’re strong for going through that”. He was inattentive, barely listened to me, and wasn’t practically enjoyable to handle whenever he got drunk with his friends-“ she confessed in frenetic rapidness. “- so can we please just drop it?”

She wasn’t exactly all too pleased with revealing her and her ex’s relationship problems so soon after they had just broken up two weeks before; especially to his cousin. But Chloé’s whining was getting to the worst of her.

The blonde’s eyes narrowed. “How can you say that? Sure Jameson isn’t exactly a whole hunk of perfection, but he’s still a good guy. I can’t believe you’d throw away your happiness just because you’re too addicted to toxic relationships to think straight.” She snapped, clicking her fingers for added affect.
