Tori's POV:

I was sprawled out in my bed doing homework when I got a text message from an unknown number.

'hey'

Confused, I texted back.

'hey? who is this?'

The number texted back almost immediately after.

'i go to hollywood arts. you might know me.'

How did they get my number?

'okay..? how did you get my number tho?'

They took a while to respond this time. They're probably making up some stupid excuse.

'you don't gotta worry about that.'

I didn't answer and just got ready for bed.

I woke up in the middle of the night from a buzz from my phone. A text message.. from the unknown number.

'can't sleep. figured i could bother you a bit more.'

Oh my god. Who the hell is this?

'jesus, can you just tell me who you are?'

'you'll find out tomorrow.'

Tomorrow? Like the day after today? Feeling a bit nervous, I put my phone down on the bedside table and went back to sleep.

Jade's POV:

My parents kicked me out last night because apparently I didn't pick up my brother from his stupid soccer practice. That little shit can walk home! We don't live that far!

Having no where else to go, I went to the woods. The woods was a safe space for me ever since I was a kid. It helped me escape my own emotions. I was debating on whether to call someone or just drown in sadness. I decided to text someone instead.

Beck and I broke up not long ago so, not him. Cat wouldn't get my problems. Andre's fine but his grandma would just get in the way. And definitely not Robbie and his fucking puppet. So that only leaves one person, Tori. I texted Cat for Tori's number and she gave it to me without any questions. I always admired Tori. She's just so perfect, and pretty. But I try to hide it by being mean, which I hate.

I texted a simple 'hey' praying that she doesn't know who I am. Surprisingly, she responded. She just asked who I was. Shit. 'i go to hollywood arts. you might know me.' She then asked me how I got this number. I just gave her a bullshit answer and she didn't even open it.

Still needing someone to talk to, I decided to text her again. This time, sounding a little like myself. She sounds irritated with her response. Maybe I should just tell her it's me tomorrow.

Tori's POV:

I got up for school around 6:30 AM. This first thing I did was check my phone for any new messages. Slap notifications but none from that mysterious number. I seriously wonder who that could be. That weird kid from biology? No, it can't be him, he doesn't even have a phone. Wait. The tone kind of sounded like Jade. That's impossible.

I finished getting ready and drove to school. I arrived and started getting books out of my locker. I felt a tap on my shoulder and jumped.

"Hey," she looked almost nervous. "Can I talk to you?" I looked around for a second then nodded. "Yeah, is everything good?" She grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the janitor's closet.

"Do you know that number that texted you last night?" No way. I nodded hesitantly. "Yeah, why? Was it you?" She looked down. "I just really needed someone to talk to. You were the only one I could turn to."

I put a hand on her shoulder. "Text or call anytime you want! You can come over tonight if you still want to talk, Jade. I'll always be there for you." Pink arising on her cheeks. She softly smiles, then I leaned in for a hug.

"See you tonight?"

"Of course."
