[Chapter 11]

The next day

I was done with my breakfast in the great hall while Draco was taking a whole lifetime to finish his. I just left him there with Theo and others then left as I needed to study.

Well instead of studying, I found myself lurking around my favorite spot, that tree near the Black lake.

I was gazing at the clouds, talking to myself, reading books and doing all the other shit that I could instead of studying.

I also realised that the hook of my necklace was getting loose, why would it not, that silver piece of jewelry was thirty years old. Father gifted it to mother when they were my age. They used to be crazy in love, that's what Aunt Narcissa told me but I don't believe it because if it were true love, then my mother would be with me in this world right now, not as a mere piece of silver but herself.

After an hour or two, I may have fallen asleep under the shade, My back resetting against the trunk.

But when I heard a russell in front of me, the distracting sound water splashing woke me up.

I rubbed my eyes with a yawn and squinted them to look at my view clearly. It was him, Potter, throwing stones in the black lake.

I stood up and straightened my clothes, pushing the small grass off then looked up at him again "this lake is so big, yet you have to throw your stones here"

He was quite amused by my voice, maybe he didn't notice me when he came here because my hair was covering my face while I was asleep.

"Can't miss a chance to annoy you" he replied playfully then turned around after throwing another flat stone in the lake which hit the surface ten times and sank down.

My eyes were on the stone but I could surprisingly feel his on mine, I couldn't ignore it and looked back at him.

We just kept looking at each other without a word.

Does this happen between two people who hate each other? Maybe- no! It's bullshit, Blair, look away.

I looked away

My eyes were back on the lake then I cleared my throat with a small laugh "I can do better than that" then I picked up a flat stone and aimed nicely. He crossed his arms and looked at me keenly as I positioned my arm and got ready to throw it.

I looked like I was going to make the stone hit and bounce fifty times.

Then I threw it and my heart raced, I don't think it was the stone but the way Potter stepped closer to me for no absolute reason.

I shook my head and took a step aside while the flat stone almost slipped the surface two times and sank down.

I sighed and looked at him again "go on, laugh at me" then walked back to the tree, sat down and opened my book again.

If him catching me asleep under a tree like that wasn't enough, I had to embarrass myself by throwing the stone in such a bad way.

"Get up" I heard his voice and my head rose up from the book to look at him. His arm was stretched out towards me.

I didn't quite get why he wanted me to get up so I tilted my head in confusion.

He looked at the lake then back at me "Get up Malfoy, I'll teach you how to skip stones"

I blinked at his words and watched him in silence. Him? Teaching me?

Not happening.

I simply looked back down on my book and ignored him but he didn't pull his arm back "c'mon throw the ego away, I can teach you"

I could hear the genuiness in his voice which I quite didn't want to. I looked at him again before shutting my book close "it's only because I'm interested in learning" then took his hand and stood up.
