On The Ice

I woke up at 8:00 on a Saturday morning and practice was at 8:45. "SHIT IM GOING TO BE LATE." I shouted. You may not think that is late, but for Manhattan, you gotta get out the door 30 minutes before you're supposed to leave so you can make it onto the bus on time. I quickly got ready and snatched my hockey bag off of the floor. "bye mom, i'll see you later!" I shouted, running out the door.
" bye honey, i love you." she smiled. I ran out to the sidewalk, barely making it to the bus stop. Luckily, I made it just before it arrived. I plugged my walkman in, moving my head to the music. Finally, this was my stop, I thought. I walked into the locker room to put on my pads and uniform.

"hi Coach Rich, who's that man?" I asked. " that's uh Don Tibbles from Hendrix who's here to recruit one person from the Eagles to play on Team U.S.A." He answered. " Wait really?!" I exclaimed with excitement. " yes, so get on the ice and work for it, Gomez." He said.  I stepped out onto the ice, and started to skate. " GOMEZ HUSTLE UP GET ON THAT OFFENSE" coach shouted. I got the puck, and ran towards the goal. I shot, and I scored multiple times.

Hours later around 2pm, I skated off the ice when practice was over. "Excuse me, are you Liana Gomez? I'm Don Tibbles from Hendrix, and i was wondering if you wanted to join Team U.S.A for the Junior Goodwill Games." my eyes widened. " Um, my mom is outside, can i go get her?" I nervously spoke. " Yes, of course!" he replied. I took off my skates and ran outside. " Mom, there's a guy that wants me to play for Team U.S.A!" " oh my goodness, this is an amazing opportunity, where is he?" she says. " He's inside come on! i shouted as loud as i could. "Hi, you're Liana's mother right?" Don asked. "Yes. I was hoping to talk to you about this opportunity." she replied. They talked for a couple of minutes, and then my mom said, " pack your stuff, because you're going to Minnesota and then LA!" my mom said. " Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed.
