"What's all this?" Seungcheol asked as soon as he stepped into the apartment, the scent of vanilla and chocolate wafting through the air.

Entering the kitchen, he smiled at the sight of Haeun baking up a storm while covered in flour and surrounded by a bunch of mixing bowls.

"I'm visiting your grandma tomorrow," she explained cheerfully, "She's finally back from her trip."

His eyes widened, and he let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God, I was starting to think she'd never be back."

"Tell me about it," she agreed and handed him a cupcake. "But I think she just needed to not be in Andong for a while. That place is full of memories of your grandfather."

"I guess you're right," he replied, leaning on the counter and observing his wife as she moved around the kitchen. "Can I go with you?"

Haeun hesitated for a moment. "I thought about inviting you, but it's not like you can just skip work."

Seungcheol shook his head and chuckled. "I think they can manage a day without me."

She shot him a look, hands on her waist. "What will your employees say when they find out you simply decided to play rookie?"

"Absolutely nothing," he replied with a confident grin. "That's the advantage of being the boss."

She rolled her eyes at his cockiness. "Okay, I'll let Dokyeom and Mingyu know they don't have to accompany me tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to get the day off."

The sun shone brightly as Seungcheol and Haeun strolled through the lush greenery of the Choi Manor's garden, the vibrant roses now in full bloom. They were soon greeted by Mr. Moon, the gardener, who proudly gestured toward the sea of colorful petals.

"Ah, welcome!" He exclaimed. "You've come at the perfect time. Miss Haeun, the roses are looking splendid, don't you think?"

Her face lit up at the sight. "They're absolutely stunning, Mr. Moon!"

He smiled at her in appreciation. "Roses are not just beautiful; they also symbolize love, gratitude, and friendship."

Seungcheol looked puzzled by his seemingly random statement, not really familiar with the gardener's little quirk.

"Just go with it," Haeun whispered to him before facing the elder man. "Go on, Mr. Moon. Share a fun fact about the roses."

He grinned and cleared his throat. "Ah, well, here's a fun fact for you: roses have thorns to protect them from animals or insects that might try to eat the leaves or the petals. That's what makes them thrive in the most varied environments."

Seungcheol couldn't help but chuckle at the charming tidbit. "Mr. Moon, could you be so kind as to pick out some roses for my wife to take home? But let's leave out the thorns," he requested with a wink.

Just then, Grandma Choi emerged from the grand entrance of the house.

"Grandma!" Haeun's eyes widened with joy as she ran to embrace the older woman, who welcomed her with open arms.

"Welcome home, Grandma," Seungcheol greeted after they broke apart, affectionately kissing her cheek.

"It's so good to see you two! Come inside, we have a delicious lunch waiting for us," she said warmly before leading them to the house.

"Where did Haeun go?" Seungcheol inquired when he reentered the dining room after excusing himself to take an important business call, his brow slightly furrowed as he scanned the room.
