The dungeon was a place of stark, intimidating darkness. It was where the real business happened, where loyalty was tested and betrayals were met with consequences. I moved through the cold corridors with a purpose, the weight of Lorenzo's command pressing heavily on me. Giovanni's betrayal was not just a breach of security—it was a direct threat to everything Lorenzo had built and to Samarya's safety.

Luca had already gone ahead to secure Giovanni, and I followed swiftly. The junior analyst's fate was sealed, and now it was up to me to ensure he faced the consequences of his actions.

As I approached the holding cell, I could hear Giovanni's muffled protests. He must have been aware of the gravity of his situation, though I doubted he fully grasped the severity of what was about to unfold. Luca stood by the cell; his expression as unyielding as ever.

"Angelo," Luca greeted me with a nod. "Giovanni is inside. He's been... a bit vocal about his innocence."

I gave a curt nod and stepped to the cell door. Giovanni, a young man in his mid-twenties with a look of bewildered panic, was slumped against the wall. His eyes widened in fear when he saw me.

"Angelo," he croaked, his voice trembling. "You've got to believe me; I didn't mean to—"

"Save it," I interrupted coldly, stepping into the cell. "Lorenzo's not interested in excuses. He wants results."

Giovanni's face was pale, and his sweat-soaked shirt clung to him. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I was just—"

"Just what?" I snapped, grabbing him by the collar and pushing him against the wall. "You were just leaking sensitive information to the Morettis? You think that's an excuse?"

Giovanni's eyes were darting around, searching for an escape that wasn't there. "I was pressured! They threatened me—"

"Everyone's threatened," I said harshly. "The difference is some people stay loyal despite it. And some people—" I jabbed a finger at him, "—betray us."

I could see the fear in Giovanni's eyes, and though it was satisfying to see him squirm, I had to keep my focus. Lorenzo wanted answers, and that meant squeezing every last bit of information from Giovanni before delivering him to the boss.

"Tell me everything," I ordered. "How did you get involved with the Morettis? What did they promise you?"

Giovanni gulped, his throat working as he tried to find his voice. "They said they'd kill my family if I did not warn them if some girl catches Lorenzo's attention. I have a pregnant wife at home. I didn't have a choice."

"You always have a choice," I said, stepping closer. "You could have come to me or Luca about their threatening, Don would have personally made sure your wife was safe and taken care of. But you made the wrong one. Now, Lorenzo wants to know how deep this goes. If there are more leaks, or if you were working alone."

Giovanni nodded rapidly. "I was working alone. I swear. I only communicated with one of their intermediaries, not directly with any higher-ups."

I narrowed my eyes. "And how did you get the information? Did you have access to everything or just specific files?"

He hesitated, his eyes darting to the floor. "Just specific files. I had access to some sensitive communications, but not everything. I—"

The door to the dungeon creaked open, and Lorenzo walked in, his imposing presence immediately filling the room. He wore a dark expression, his eyes cutting through the gloom with a cold, dangerous intensity.
