I'm pissed off cause my fucking pictures up top just won't be added to the chapters.
The first two had pictures at the start, but once I tried it with the others it just wouldn't stay, it would be blank.
Also slight lemon up ahead. Or could it be a full one? Maybe none at all.
Have you guys been keeping count of the days?
And one more thing, how do you guys think I'm writing the characters because I have not read the light novel at all? Anime only and fan fics I guess.
Alright, that's enough talking. (I'm just trying to make the word count bigger)
I quickened my pace to a light jog and caught up to her. She gave me a side glance and smirked, swaying her hips with each step. The movement was mesmerizing, a welcome distraction from the noises around us.
I let my eyes linger on her momentarily longer than necessary, making my glances deliberately obvious. When she turned her head and caught me staring, I quickly looked away, trying to act nervous. I hoped my feigned shyness was convincing.
She chuckled softly; the sound was almost lost in the surrounding noise, but I managed to catch it. Her smirk grew wider, clearly enjoying the attention from me. Despite my stone-like face, my acting seemed good enough for her to believe. Her nervousness from when she first approached me completely disappeared the second I showed interest.
To her, I was just a nervous teenager who seemed stronger than most, someone she could use to her advantage and control.
"Uh, miss, if you don't mind me asking, where are we going?"
"I already told you, just a restaurant I cleared out, but I heard a bunch of noise when I saw you. What were you doing?" She kept walking as she spoke, weaving lies into her words. She had been watching me from the beginning and took a few steps back before I began climbing to make it seem like she stumbled upon me by accident. Her dirty shoe imprints on the ground were more evidence.
"Oh, I was being chased and climbed up here out of panic. I got fortunate." I wanted to make more body gestures, but my face would ruin any attempt at acting that I hadn't tried already. "Where were you coming from?"
"Oh, just my base. I just wanted to stock up on supplies, but I guess I got too greedy since I already have a lot."
"Is that so? Anyone you're with?"
"No, it's just me. What about you?"
"I had a coworker I was with when this whole thing started, but she..." She looked downward for a bit as we walked.
"Oh, I see." I was getting tired of saying "Oh." Hopefully, she was too, and would call me out.
"Anyways, what's your name? We're going to get to know each other better, after all, if everything goes well." She smirked.
"I'm Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, and yours?"
"Isere Umi. Nice to meet you, Ayanokoji."
A name that would soon be forgotten. I nodded at her. "Nice to meet you too, Isere."
After that brief exchange, an understanding seemed to pass between us, and we fell into a comfortable silence. The atmosphere was heavy with tension, the kind that made every footstep seem amplified in the stillness of the mall.
The only sounds that pierced through the quiet were the distant, eerie groans of the zombies below and the rhythmic taps of our footsteps blending into the background as we walked. The silence between us felt almost tangible, a delicate thread that connected us as we moved forward.
