It hadn't been long since the Four Clans (Riverclan, Shadowclan, Windclan and Thunderclan) left their old hunting-grounds in the Forest to travel all the way to the Lake and things were slowly going back to normal. Sure there were difficulties (making the borders, placing the clans etc) but now every cats went back to their normal way of life as if they were still in their old territories.

The Forest... Their beloved forest ,where they all lived since the creations of the Clans, was slowly being destroyed by the Two-Legs (Humans) and they forced the Cats to leave their home behind or else they would be all destroyed.

It was thanks to some cats (Feathertail, Tawnypelt, Brambleclaw, Crowpaw, Stormfur and Squirrelpaw) that the Lake was discovered and chosen as the Clans' new territory. Of course, each Clans had to chose which area around the Lake would be their new home and hunting grounds. After some times, the borders were made and things were settled.

ThunderClan claimed the North-eastern part of the Lake and their territory was mainly deciduous woodland. Their camp was an abandoned quarry which they now called the Stone Hollow. Shadowclanclaimed the North-western part of the Lake and their territory was mostly a coniferous forest with not much undergrowth and damp ground. Their camp was situated in a dip surrounded by brambles.

RiverClan lived in the South-western part of the Lake around the rivers and their Lake Camp was on a triangle of land between two streams. WindClan's new territory was an open moor in the South-eastern part of the Lake and their Camp was a shallow scoop in the ground, protected from the weather.

The Lake touched all the Clans' territories, and it was their main source of water. Two-legs would sometimes sail on the water with their boats but it wasn't a problem for the cats. However, the Lake itselfdidn't belonged to any Clan , and cats could travel near the shore if they kept within three tail-lengths from the water (mainly because not many cats apart of Riverclan knew how to swim).

In the middle of the Lake, stood anisland which was used by the Clans each moon for their Gathering that's why it had been called the 'Gathering Island'. Apart of territories, they was another problem to take care of before the Clans completely accepted their new home. What was it ? Easy : How to have contacts with the spirits of their Warrior Ancestors , Starclan.

Back in the Forest Territories, the Clans, before they were forced to leave, used the Moonstone to talk with Starclan. The Sacred Cristal-like Stone resided in the Highstones, mountains at the edge of the Forest-Territories at the other side of Windclan's territory and near Barley's and Ravenpaw's barn.

Now, the Leaders and Medicine Cats used the Moonpool, a small pool of water at the bottom of a hollow discovered by Leafpool when she was an apprentice. The Moonpool was located far North-east from the Clan territories, and was considered as neutral territory.

Back to present, we are in Riverclan Territory and more precisely, in the Medicine Cat's den were a large dappled golden tabby she-cat with amber eyes was finishing re-supplying her stocks of herbs. The she-cat was none other than Mothwing, Riverclan current Medicine Cat. She was also the daughter of Sasha, a former kittypet, and Tigerstar, the former Shadowclan Leader and one of the biggest traitors the Clans even known.
