It was a hard day for Thunderclan's Cats. A huge fire came and destroyed many parcels of their territory. To escape the fire, Thunderclan had to flee away to Riverclan's territory. 3 Cats didn't make it in time and died because of the fire and among those three was , the old medicine cat on the clan.

Right now, Thunderclan Cats were trying to rebuilt their destroyed camp with what they could find in places where the Fire didn't come. In the nursery (or what remain of it ) a little kit was watching the others working with curiosity. It was a dark brown kit with amber eyes by the name of . He was the son of , a golden queen and of , a cat who was once the Clan's deputy before being revealed as a horrible traitor by , a flame-colored tom who was the new deputy since Tigerclaw's banishment. He also had a sister (a mottled tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat with clear green eyes) by the name of .

However, those two kits weren't really liked by a lot of their Clan-mates because they were the children of a traitor. But they didn't know it. Their mother Goldenflower protected them as any mother would as she was shocked by her Clan-mates's behavior toward her kits but sadly, she couldn't blame them. Even Fireheart ,who was once a kittypet, avoided her kits as best as he could. But then , the flame colored tom saved Bramblekit from the Fire. He could just had left the kit behind but he didn't. He risked his own life to save her son. She was really grateful for this and prayed Starclan that one day, Fireheart would get along with her kits.

Bramblekit , on the other hand, was admiring Fireheart because he saved him. Thanks to the deputy, he hadn't burned to death. Tawnykit too was grateful to Fireheart for saving her brother and she couldn't understand why her Clan-mates were acting so strangely toward her and her brother. Later, Fireheart grounded Bramblekit for hurting another kit (the son of Frostfur ) who was revealed to be deaf.

One night, Bramblekit and Tawnykit were really scared.

They were currently resting against their mother's side but they couldn't sleep. Earlier, Snowkit (the deaf kitten ) was taken by a falcon under the view of his mother Frostfur who tried to save her son from the bird. Fireheart tried to help too but they were unable to stop the Falcon to take Snowkit away. Now when the two kits closed their eyes they were thinking about their deceased friend and playmate.

Bramblekit then nudged his mother whispering "Mom ? Please wake up..." Tawnykit did the same and soon Goldenflower woke up with a yawn "What's going one my loves ?~" she asked them with concern "We couldn't sleep..." they responded at the same time and Goldenflower cooed sadly "You think the Falcon will come back ?" she asked them gently and they nodded in response. Goldenflower thought about what to do when she remembered what her mother did to her when she had nightmares. She smiled and looked at her babies with nothing but pure maternal love "I can help you to sleep if you want little ones~" They looked at her with cute eyes and nodded with a smile.

The Golden Queen purred silently before inquiring in a gentle tone "Don't be afraid little ones and let me take care of you~". Then she opened her jaws before engulfing Tawnykit in it. The tortoisedshell kit squeaked in surprise but was muffled by her mother's tongue on her face. As she pulled her daughter more inside her mouth, Goldenflower was licking her tiny body purring while Bramblekit looked at the scene with shock and horror at seeing his sister being eaten by their own mother !

Soon only Tawnykit's tails were out of Goldenflower's mouth but she quickly slurped it like a noodle. The Golden Queen sighed before looking at her terrified son with a warm smile "Don't worry honey she is fine....I would never do this if it was dangerous~" "But she is in-" "I know but me and all she-cats can control our stomach so we can chose if you digest things or not~" she explained to her brown son gently. Bramblekit knew his mother would never hurt him or his sister and relaxed before asking "So you will eat me too ?" She nodded "Could you start with my hind legs please ?" "If you want my dear ! Now.....relax~"

Bramblekit turned around and Goldenflower used her front-paws to pull his hind legs and tail inside her mouth. Then she started to swallow and Bramblekit was halfway inside her maw. He giggled when he felt her tongue licking his belly and Goldenflower purred in amusement. Then she swallowed again and Bramblekit's heads and front-paws were fully inside the cavernous maw of his mother. Soon his head was at the throat's entrance and Goldenflower licked his cheeks one last time before closing her mouth and swallowing.

Bramblekit traveled down the squishy tunnel that was his mother's throat before landing inside a squishy room next to his sister who was already asleep. He wondered how Tawnykit could sleep so fast and soon he understood why : the gurgling sound of the stomach and his mother's heartbeat sounded like a lullaby. Thanks to this, Bramblekit started to feel himself sleepy and yawned cutely before curling around himself and falling asleep.

Outside, Goldenflower could feel her babies sleeping and she looked at her tummy with maternal affection. She licked her belly lovingly before whispering in a really sweet tone "Sleep well my little darlings~" then she yawned before closing her eyes and falling asleep with her babies safe inside her stomach.

And from that moment, Bramblekit and Tawnykit slept every night in their mother's stomach and the Golden Queen was happy to see their smiling face. Her love for her kits grew each time they entered her stomach to rest after a long day.
