"I Feel So High School..."

I sat in class, listening to the teacher drone on about the importance of ordering our caps and gowns for graduation. I was feeling a mix of emotions. Excitement, relief, and a hint of sadness. In just four short months, our high school careers would be over.

As the teacher continued to talk, I couldn't help but think about how fast time had flown by. It seemed like just yesterday we were nervously walking into our freshman year, unsure of what the future held.

Now, here we were, just a few months away from graduation. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that we would soon be moving on to new chapters in our lives.

We all had made it through the ups and downs of high school together, but now we were about to embark on a new adventure. Some of us college, some of us marriage and parenthood.

I suddenly realized that prom was just around the corner. It was typically held in late April, which meant it was only a few months away.

I couldn't believe it. Prom, graduation, and our baby's arrival all in the same few months. It was a lot to take in.

I sat in class, surrounded by the popular girls - Raegan, Emily and Sarah. It was still surreal to think that we were now friends, after years of them making fun of me for being a "nobody nerd".

But everything changed when I started dating Timothée. They suddenly wanted to be my friend, and I had to admit, it was nice to be part of the "in crowd" for once.

As the teacher droned on, they started getting excited about graduation and prom. "Oh my gosh, can you believe we're finally graduating?" Raegan squealed.

"I know, it's crazy!" Emily replied. "And prom is going to be amazing! We have to wear matching dresses."

Raegan turned to me, her eyes sparkling. "Leia, you have to come dress shopping with us! We want to find the perfect red dresses."

I smiled, feeling a little overwhelmed but also grateful to be included. "That sounds like so much fun, I'd love to!"

Emily grinned mischievously. "Just think, Leia, you'll be the only one rocking a baby bump on the dance floor!"

Raegan and Sarah giggled, and I playfully rolled my eyes.

Emily held up her hands in defense. "We might need to add some extra fabric to your dress, just in case."

I laughed, feeling a little self-conscious but also happy to be included in the joke. "Well, as long as I don't have to wear a maternity muumuu, I'm good."

Sarah chuckled. "Don't worry, we'll find a dress that's both stylish and accommodating. Maybe something with a nice empire waistline?"

Raegan nodded. "She'll be with Timothée, no one will even notice her little accident."

I looked over at her and felt my body run hot with anger. I wasn't going to cause a scene, and Raegan was your typical popular girl. No one wanted to stand up to her or put her in her place, including me. I was finally in with these girls and I didn't want to ruin it now.

I just forced a smile and looked away.

As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the day, we gathered our stuff and headed out of the classroom. The girls and I walked together, chatting and laughing, until we reached the lockers where our boyfriends were waiting for us.

Raegan's boyfriend, Jake, swept her into a hug, while Emily's boyfriend, Mike, gave her a quick kiss. Sarah's boyfriend, Alex, brings Sarah into his arms.

And then, there was Timothée, leaning against his locker with a smile on his face. Our eyes met, and I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Hey, beautiful," he said, opening his arms.
