How to write fanfiction

Fanfiction.

"Fan" comes from fanatic. "Fiction" means imaginary. 

Put them together and you have Fanfiction. The majority of the stories here on Wattpad are fanfictions. Many of the fans have watched an anime series, movies, or others, and started to write stories about it. Simply as a way to escape reality and to dream about the possibilities of being with our favorite character, actor, you name it. It's a world on its own, and we all have that in our mind. And that world is mind-blowing. 

Creating and writing a story is not something that most of us take lightly. It takes guts and courage to put a story, that we're passionate about, online for anyone to read. When it comes to fanfics about musicians, actors, or anyone real in this world of ours, you don't have to change all too much. Think of using mobile phones, vehicles, modern clothing, and what else. Almost similar with characters from movies and series we have on TV and/or cinema. I'm talking about Teen Wolf, Twilight, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, and more. Not to mention all the fics out there about your music preferences. People write about 1D, BTS, 5SOS, Backstreet Boys, and I don't know many musicians are out there. Then the anime fanfics. Yes, I love to watch it myself, and I'm almost addicted to both reading and writing the stories. I have a 'to watch' list and that keeps on growing. ;) 

However, every world has rules and laws. Although if your story takes place in this modern world, you know how things work. In the anime world, whatever story you are writing, the anime in question is already created with all the main characters, supportive characters, villains, and everyone else. Then how come, I read an anime story where most of the laws or rules don't apply? Seriously, the anime is created and it means there is a wiki on almost all the characters, villages, cities, and God or Archons knows what else. Please, do your research so that your story makes sense. I'm all for common sense and common decency.

Since there is such a variety of fanfics, I wanted to gather it all together in one book. By that, I mean that I will go further into details later on when it comes to anime. There are definitely things about Yugioh!, Naruto, Vampire Knight, HunterxHunter, Genshin Impact, and others that they will get some chapters later on.

I do feel like to address the issue of "this is my first fanfic/ fic" warning? Do we really need to know this? The answer is no. This is just the writer excusing themselves for bad grammar and/or other mistakes. Or for the fact that it's a cringeworthy story or a cheesy plotline. Stop doing this. There is this app you can use on your phone and laptop and it's called Grammarly or use a different program. Plenty are out there so pick one and use it to filter out most mistakes. Also, if you're not happy, revise the story. 

One last thing to add, why oh why, do we have to listen to any type of music while reading your story? The song that you added just to enhance the atmosphere, settings, or mood is your music preference that you should not enforce on others. If you think you need music to enrich your story, you are doing it wrong. You, as an author, write the story so describe the mood with emotions and all. Music could add a little extra but should not be needed.
