The Wayne's looked up when Percy entered the cabin and smiled. She walked over to the table and sat down. Dick spoke up.
"Hey Percy, where did you get the earrings? You didn't wear them earlier."
She smiled, pretending not to notice how Bruce stopped reading his paper in favor to listen into their conversation.
"They were birthday presents from a friend. He gave me a package before I left camp and told me not to open it until my birthday. I just opened it on the beach."
That caught Dick's interest.
"Who is this friend you are talking about? Do you know where he bought them?"
She showed the tiniest tinge of blush which luckily for Percy, the boy noticed, and his smile brightened.
"Who is he? A crush? Come on Perce, share some details."
She hated the teasing tone in his voice. She hated it more than anything, yet she had to pretend not to notice it, it was how she disguised herself after all.
She couldn't risk having them find out about her changes over the summers.
Still, Kal's words echoed in her ears, not now Kal, sorry. She smiled timidly at her brother and began to play with a strand of her hair, a habit she picked up from Rachel.
"Kal. He's a friend from camp, as I already said. Can you please let it go?" Percy started to get annoyed with every minute, with how her brother's face became more teasing with every word she said.
"I don't think I will. This is too good. Tell me more." "But you don't gotta brag." Dick rolled his eyes at her attempted diversion.
"Har, ha, but really. I just want to know more about the people my little sister spends her summers with. C'mon, help a brother to get his peace of mind. Besides, I wouldn't be a proper big brother if I didn't use every available moment to tease my baby sister."
"I'm literally not even a year younger than you."
It was an eternal argument. Every time Dick tried to justify something he did or does to annoy Percy, he plays the 'I'm older' card, to which Percy retorts with the relatively short amount of time between their births.
And Percy counts her lucky stars, because with Dick, she often manages to win their argument at one point or another.
Her arguments with Triton on the other hand?
She had yet to find a solid argument that could last against their thousands of years age difference, his experience, and the fact that she wasn't even a toddler in godly terms of time.
"Still, just tell me a little more about this mysterious 'Kal'."
"More? Nope. I had already enough teasing at camp. I don't need you to annoy me too."
"Why are they annoying you Perce?" He asked in a singsong voice, promising her a light headache later.
"Can you just let it go? It doesn't matter. There are already bets going on at camp."
Seeing the shit-eating-grin spreading on his face, Percy cursed in ancient Greek, hating how she sometimes talks before registering what she was saying.
"Watch your moth young miss. I don't know what you said, but it definitely was a colorful curse."
She could see the mirth in Bruce's eyes at her antics. Dick on the other hand Grinned like a maniac chanting teases under his breath. This led to her chasing him around the house and outside for a while.
