To my mom

You say you didn't mean to hurt me,
That intent wasn't there,
So tell me, why did you hurt me,
Your hand mid air?

Why did you scream at me,
all those sleepless nights?
Telling me I'm satin's spawn,
Leaving me with spite.

You said that you loved me,
Like a mother would.
But you didn't truly love me
As my mother should.

You'd shut down all my interests
Take away my phone,
You'd tell me that I'm evil
'Cause I wanted time alone.

You'd say I'm the bad guy,
Now how could that be so?
All I did was call you out,
All those years ago.

You'd tell me vicious lies,
About myself, and my dad.
And about my friends,
Which you claimed I never had.

You say you didn't mean to hurt me,
Well, what was your plan?
If you didn't want to hurt me,
Why did you burn my hand?
