You sat in your boyfriends living room, flipping through the pages of a book while Alfred watched football on the television. You sighed, closing your novel and setting it aside. You cleared your throat, looking over at Al, whose eyes were still glued onto the T.V. screen. Rolling your eyes you cleared your throat once more. Alfred took this hint and glanced quickly over at you.

"Yes honeybun?" He asked, reverting his eyes back onto the screen. You laid back on the couch.

"You've been watching that same game for a while now!" You pouted, "Tonight was our date night and I'm starting to feel like a third wheel with that T.V. around...." You admitted, looking away from him. Your gaze stayed focused on your hands in your lap. "I'm leaving for college in a week and I want to spend as much time with you as I can!" You sighed sadly.

"Yeah babe, sounds great." He responded monotone-like. You turned your head, seeing him back to watching his stupid sport game. You gritted your teeth.

"Did you even listen to a word I said?" You asked, angered that he was once again ignoring you for his show. You groaned, standing up and blocking his view of the television. He finally perked up.

"Hey doll, could you move over a bit, I can't see.." He said, trying to look over you. You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms.

"Alfred." You say sternly, "You haven't said a word since the tele was turned on!" He sighed, sitting back.

"Babe, you were reading, I didn't want to interrupt that!" He pointed out. You mentally face palm.

"Al, I started reading after trying to get your attention for thirty minutes!!" You shout. He sucked in his cheeks.

"Why are you so grumpy...?" He mumbled, "Is it that time of month?" This set you off. You felt your face heat up, your heart felt like it was going to explode in your chest.

"Do you know how long it's been since we've had sex?!" You blurted out, revealing your secret you've tried to keep hidden. You felt terrible, like you had just blamed him for your actions, it's not his fault you two haven't had sex...right? "I've just.." You cleared your throat, "felt like a bother this whole night..." You whisper out.

"Well you're kinda bothering me now.." He said. You looked down to see him watching football once more. You tensed up, grabbing your overnight bag you had stashed underneath the coffee table. You reached for your book, shoving it into the duffel bag and zipping it up. You walked over to the door, grabbing your keys from the hook.

"Well, if I'm being a bother," You grabbed your shoes, pulling them on quickly. "then I'll just leave you to your football game." You spat out, grabbing the door handle and yanking it open. You were one foot out the door before you looked over your shoulder, mourning for Alfred to jump up and stop you. For him to shower you in kisses and assure you that you weren't a bother and he was just being a douche. Yet, there he sat, brainwashed by his television. You felt your heart fall to the floor as you slammed his front door. You quickly walked to your parked car, trying to find the right key through your blurry vision. You sniffed, opening up the car door and throwing your bag into the passenger seat. You shut the door, gripping the wheel as your head rested against the back of your seat. You held your breath, trying to defeat the lump forming in your throat. You started the car and drove out.

You were on the highway, fifteen minutes away from Alfred's abode, and still no word from him. You don't even know why you even wanted to talk to him at the moment. You felt hot tears stream down the apples of your cheeks. Watching a blur of light spin by as you drove to your house in complete pity.

You woke up, your pillow still damp from the tears shed on it last night. The memories flooded your head, causing you to flop back down on your bed. You screamed into the pillow, still feeling like complete and utter shit. As you wallowed in self pity you heard a small ding from across the room. You stood up, grabbing onto your blanket, throwing it over your messy hair and dragged it along with you to your phone. You grabbed it, pulling the charger cord out. That's when you noticed all the missed phone calls and text notifications...all from Alfred. You weren't sure whether or not you wanted to read them. You closed your eyes, hitting on the button. Up popped your text messages, you began to read through all of his texts.
