This is not what Katsuki had imagined his vacation to be like. Together with Icyhot in a damn, damp cave? Apparently in a whole other fucking dimension as well. Katsuki felt as if he had just stepped into his worst and darkest nightmare. Seemingly, the world was conspiring against him, potentially threatening not only his very life but also his bright future as the world's most renowned hero. He hates it.
---
"Ouch..." It was awful. Appallingly horrible. Katsuki kept asking himself just why he, of all people, just happened to be the one trapped in this dreadful situation. It could- no, it should have happened to literally anyone else! But, of course, he was the lucky one. And now he was stuck in this fucking tunnel system, together with Shōto Todoroki, of all people.
Todoroki was a poseur, with a stupidly rich daddy and a silver spoon shoved up his incompetent ass. At least, that was Katsuki's perception of him. Of course, the half-and-half guy, despite his stupidity, possessed a useful Quirk. Fire and Ice, Ice and Fire. In the end, it doesn't matter; he'll just blow them both into ashes, smoke, and oblivion. Katsuki is stronger.
The blonde landed dully on his buttocks and rubbed his forehead with one of his scraped-open hands. "What the fuck are you doing?!" he aggressively snarled at the culprit of his fall, only to be met with apathetic, bored, uneven, and ugly-looking eyes. God, that bastard was annoying as hell.
After he didn't get an answer, which he honestly didn't even expect, Katsuki got up annoyed, brushing the dust off his clothes, and at the same time regretted all the decisions in his life that had brought him to this very moment. If he had just stayed home today, trained, or read anything uninteresting, he wouldn't be in this damn situation.
He would have been further along towards his goal of surpassing All Might, and in the best-case scenario, he would have gotten rid of Icyhot once and for all. Katsuki buried his hands in the wide pockets of his pants and muttered, "Tch..." in a frustrated manner. At the same time, he reached the conclusion that today was the worst day of his entire life.
Finally, Katsuki turned to face the door Todoroki had just opened a few seconds ago. Surprised, the blonde raised his eyebrows. It was a sparsely lit hall, the largest room they had reached so far. Several dark greenish pipes led over the ceiling and further into the interior of the room, but after closer inspection, Katsuki thought it looked more like a tunnel.
The most annoying thing, however, was the small, disgustingly green creature in the center of the room. Todoroki also directed his attention towards the serene-looking stranger, clad in a simple dark suit. Who the hell was that bean now?
"This way, please." It began speaking in a relatively high-pitched male voice after noticing the two UA students at what appeared to be the side entrance. Obviously, the figure did not expect their arrival, at least not from the side door they came from. Katsuki barely flinched, looking at the green creature with suspicion. Especially when it extended two circular plastic plates towards them.
The first was a big black '1', and the second was a simple black '2'. "Here, please take the card with your number. You both are the first participants to arrive." The creature shook his little green hand while Todoroki accepted the plastic plates wordlessly, but was a little overwhelmed.
"Huh?! What am I supposed to do with that freaking card?" Skeptically, Katsuki's eyebrows drew together. He didn't need round plates; he needed a signpost to guide him back home. "Oi, Icyhot, what are you doing?!" The blonde commented, growling at his unwilling ally's behavior. It was clear they were signing up when they accepted the little cards. He had no desire to engage in whatever was or was about to happen right now.
"Please wear it visibly on your chest at all times and be careful not to lose it." The green entity clarified the situation, disregarding Katsuki's apparent animosity, as Todoroki silently placed the card bearing the number 1 into the blonde's hands. As he did so, the younger man attached his own card with the number 2 to the outside of his jacket.
