Katsuki was irritated and annoyed with Todoroki, the inconvenient Hunter exam, the bothersome pacing, and this insidious freak of a clown. He has an intense desire to blow something up, but will hold himself back. For now at least.

It was rather fortunate that it didn't take a very long time before something finally occurred, suggesting the direction of 'beginning the exam.' In general, Katsuki was not the type of guy who enjoyed waiting for anything or anyone, and having Todoroki practically breathe his idiocy down his neck did not make the wasted time any more bearable. Not at all, to be precise.

Katsuki made an effort to navigate around the other participants in order to avoid being in 44's field of vision. The clown's presence was conspicuous, so it was relatively simple to make out and avoid in a crowd like this. However, the fact that the freak, for whatever reason, appeared to have developed a particular kind of fondness for Icyhot wasn't exactly optimal for them. While Katsuki was at it, he also made sure to avoid crossing paths with Tonpa, the number 16. Katsuki, already frustrated, couldn't help but notice, with a hint of smugness, that Square-nose also seemed to steer clear of them.

In all honesty, he made a concerted effort to avoid interacting with anyone all together. Although he did try to get some snippets and clues from other participants conversations, mostly about their precise location but also anything about the economy, political or supernatural occurances, or whatever number 44 had going on. He was confident that he had correctly identified the name of the currency: Jenny. In other words, the few yen he had in his pockets were of no use whatsoever. Amazing. Fucking great.

A loud, resounding ringing startled the blonde, causing him to flinch. Since when was he so damn jumpy? And what the hell was that noise now? It sounded like his annoying alarm clock back home. There was a complete cessation of any whispering, and everyone obviously appeared to be interested in the direction of the noise.

The source was located furthest from the actual entrance, concealed behind the sleek looking wall where the two UA students had recently been leaning against. From Katsuki's perspective, he could still make out the presence of that damn neon orange drink can lying there, leaving a small puddle. Katsuki's eyebrows shot up in surprise as the ringing abruptly ceased and the wall swiftly ascended. Was the exam finally starting? It seemed that the blonde's patience had completely run out.

"My apologies for the extended wait you've endured." A figure dressed in a vibrant purple suit, complete with a short red tie and atypical lilac hair, stood confidently in the dimly lit but definitely deep leading tunnel. So he was right about the tunnel. "And so, the entrance phase for this year's Hunter exam comes to a close. My congratulations for qualifying." The man kept on talking, allowing the two students to exchange a brief look. Hunter exam? No way in hell was this a normal 'hunter' so what the fuck is a Hunter? And what exactly would be tested to become one of those Hunters?

"Thus, let the Hunter exam begin!" Katsuki's face twisted into a perplexed frown. It's insane how there was such a massive turnout of people of all ages eager to take part in the exam to become a so-called Hunter. There's really no way in hell that they were merely participating to obtain a hunting license. And let's face it, giving a rifle to number 44 wouldn't end particularly well for any party involved.

"However, I must offer one final caution. If you lack luck or skill, serious injury may be the unfortunate outcome. Similarly, deaths cannot be ruled out. Those who are willing to take the risk, please follow me." At least he was now very confident that it was more than just a simple hunting license. Luck and skill, or do they die? Yeah, fuck that, he neither lacked skill nor luck. He'll ace this shit. The lilac man reached out one of his hands, gesturing towards the designated entrance. "All remaining individuals who are not willing to take the risk, kindly make your way to the elevator in order to depart from the examination site."
