Lunar The Umbreon

Lunar POV:

"Now where did I kill that Pigeot? I know it was somewhere around here." I keep looking around for it until I finally spot it. Aha! I rush over to get it then make my way back to the village. I hope he was able to introduce himself to them fine. If anything he's probably just a bit nervous.

I get there in a matter of minutes since I was running. As I make my way into the village not a lot of Pokémon are seen out and about. Must be at the elders place wanting to see the new guy. I go over to the elders place in the middle of the village. There are a lot of Pokémon gathered around the place.

I see a Lombre right outside the crowd. "Hey do you know what's going on here?" I ask like I don't already know.

"Elder Ludicolo is talking to someone who apparently knew your name. We figured since you weren't here he had done something to you since you hadn't shown up yet. He's being interrogated as we speak. Did you really know him?" Lombre asks surprised.

"What?! Yes I knew him! I figured if he just told everyone he knew me they'd welcome him but instead they interrogate him?! Not that he'd beaten me in battle and forced my name out!" I dash through the crowd and into the elders den. I see elder Ludicolo sitting in his place talking to Volt who looked like he was shaking a bit from the elders presence.

"I'm going to ask you one more time Volt. What have you done with Lunar? And if you don't answer me honestly I will have to use force. But I'd rather not do-"

"Wait elder! I'm right here! What he told you was the truth! I just forgot the prey I caught back by the river! He didn't do anything!"

Elder turns to me and I can sense him calm down. "Ah Lunar! So he wasn't lying about you getting the Pigeot you killed! But what have I told you about eating other Pokémon? You're only allowed to kill and eat it if it attacks you first. Isn't that right?"

"That's right but it did attack me first. You sent me out to collect some berries for the village but I ended up being attacked after picking some near the Pigeots nest. But aside from that. Do you mind releasing him over there?" I look over to Volt who is still surrounded by Lombre gaurds with spears and inch from his neck.

"Ah yes I forgot about him for a moment. Do release our new guest. We apologize for the trouble we had caused you." With the word of the elder the Lombre withdrew their spears and backed away from Volt.

"D-don't mention it." Volt says breathing a sigh of relief.

"Since we've gotten that out of the way I do still have a question for you Volt. What brought you here and what is your plan?" Elder asks curiously.

Volt is still a bit shook still so it takes him a moment before finally answering. "I... I was invited here by Lunar because he said that the village could use a Pokémon like me."

Elder takes a moment taking in what Volt said before speaking. "Lunar. Are you thinking that Volt has what it takes to be part of the fighting squad?"

I give a smile as Elder had read my mind. "Hmmmm well that's part of it yeah. Volt also has gym battle experience."

"Gym battles you say? Ahh that brings back memories. Volt. Since we have a recommendation from Lunar here, our strongest warrior. Would you like the privilege of joining the fighting squad? The fighting squad has the job of protecting the village. When invading Pokémon come and try to take our food supply you and the rest of the fighting squad will fight them off. We also sometimes have rodent Pokémon who come at night that just try taking food by being sneaky. Two Pokémon take turns on a night shift patrol. Do you think you're up for it?" Elder asks finishing the fighting squad explanation.

Volt hesitates. "I... I think so? But wouldn't there need to be some kinda strength test?"

"Yes usually there is one but when getting recommended from Pokémon who are already squad members you get a by pass. So better not disappoint! Hahaha, no pressure. You are now free to go and do as you wish. Lunar show him around and introduce him to the other members of the fighting squad."

"Yes sir! Come on Volt! Let's go!" I tell to him excited to show him around.

Volt walks up to me nodding. And with that we left the elders den. Pokémon still gathered around outside not knowing at all what had happened in there. "Make way guys! You're in the presence of two members of the fighting squad now!"

There are a lot of gasps, murmurs, and questionable faces around as they make a path for Volt and I. "I bet you'll like it here Volt. And you'll love the other members of the fighting squad. But first I want you to follow me to somewhere. I got something to show you."

With that I lead him out of the village the opposite direction of the river.

Elders POV:

Lunar. You took months just to warm up to the Pokémon of the village. But you already became what seems to be good friends with a Pokémon you just met? Could it be something with both of them evolving from an Eevee? Or could it be something else?

"Elder! Are you sure about this?! I know it's a recommendation from Lunar but this is a Pokémon we know only of his name. Nothing else! Wouldn't you think it's dangerous to make an outsider like him a member of our fighting squad? He might bring trouble!" One of gaurds complains to me. The other gaurds murmuring and nodding in agreement.

"Silence! I've made my decision. It is the first time ever Lunar has recommended somebody. And he is our strongest and most trusted warrior. He is the person I trust most right after my own son. I trust he knows what he's doing." As much as I trust Lunar there is a tad bit of worry in me. But it's probably just me overthinking it.

"Besides if he does bring trouble I will deal with him personally."
