Diana felt a sense of urgency as she navigated the quiet streets of Gotham, her thoughts racing. The previous night's revelation about Percy's involvement with Black Mask weighed heavily on her. She had to find a way to help him, but she needed more information first. Determined to get to the bottom of things, she decided to visit the Young Justice team at their covert headquarters.
As she approached the entrance to the cave, Diana took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation ahead. She was met by Miss Martian, who greeted her warmly.
"Wonder Woman, what brings you here?" Miss Martian asked, sensing the underlying tension in Diana's demeanor.
"I need to speak with Artemis," Diana replied, her voice resolute. "It's urgent."
Miss Martian nodded and led Diana through the cave to the training room where Artemis was practicing. The sound of arrows hitting their targets filled the air as they entered. Artemis paused, noticing their arrival.
"Diana?" Artemis said, lowering her bow. "What's going on?"
Diana took a step forward, her expression a mix of worry and determination. "Artemis, I need to talk to you about Percy."
Artemis's eyes widened in surprise. "Percy? What about him?"
"He's my baby brother," Diana began, her voice trembling slightly. "And I found out last night that he's involved with Black Mask. I need to know everything you know about his activities."
Artemis exchanged a glance with Miss Martian, who discreetly left the room to give them privacy. She took a deep breath, her face reflecting concern. "We had a run-in with him recently. He was working as security for Black Mask during one of their operations. Percy...he almost fought the entire team and nearly won. Super boy had to attack him by surprise to subdue him."
Diana's heart sank further, the weight of the situation pressing down on her. "I knew he was strong, but I didn't realize how deep he was involved. I saw him last night, following orders, hurting people. It broke my heart."
Artemis stepped closer, her voice gentle but firm. "Percy is a good person, Diana. But he's caught in a terrible situation. I saw it in his eyes when we fought him. He didn't want to be there."
Tears welled up in Diana's eyes as she looked at Artemis, seeking understanding and hope. "I'm scared for him, Artemis. I've always tried to protect him, but I feel like I've failed. He's going down a dark path, and I don't know how to help him."
Artemis reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Diana's shoulder. "You haven't failed him. You're here, trying to find a way to save him. That's what matters. Percy is strong, but he needs support. He needs to know there are other options, other ways to live."
Diana nodded, grateful for Artemis's words. "I don't want him to feel like he's alone in this. He's always been so independent, but it's clear he's struggling. I need to be there for him, to show him that he's not alone."
"We can help," Artemis said, determination in her voice. "The team can keep an eye on him, offer him protection if he needs it. But we'll have to be careful. If Black Mask finds out we're involved, it could make things worse for Percy."
Diana wiped her tears, finding strength in Artemis's resolve. "Thank you, Artemis. I'm grateful for any help you can provide. I'll do whatever it takes to get him out of this mess."
Artemis gave her a reassuring smile. "We'll figure it out together. Percy's not beyond saving, and with your help, I believe we can bring him back to the right path."
As they stood there, united in their determination to help Percy, Diana felt a glimmer of hope. She knew the road ahead would be challenging, but with the support of the Young Justice team and her unwavering love for her baby brother, she was ready to face whatever came their way. Percy deserved a better life, and she would stop at nothing to ensure he got it.
