The next morning the girls gathered at Hayley's house for breakfast. "He stole your receipt?" Elizabeth asks sipping her coffee. " I mean, he must have. Because I've looked everywhere and it's gone." Annie says pacing, in panick. "Everywhere? Have you checked your pocket?" Elizabeth asks making Annie give her a look of annoyance. " What do you think I am, an idiot?" Annie questions as Hayley opens her mouth. "Don't answer that." Annie says quickly making Hayley close her mouth.

"Okay, well how much was it for?" Elizabeth questions as she takes another sip of her coffee. "$20,000 worth of flat screens." Annie answers making them all wince. "Oh, my God." Elizabeth says in disbelief. "Who steals a receipt, anyway?" Ruby questions. "Well, he wrote his number on it, so I guess he just didn't want me to call him again." Annie says trying to make sense of the situation.

"Hold on, It ain't in your phone?" Hayley asks. "Well, yeah, but--" Annie stutters. " Like, who is this guy?" Elizabeth questions cutting her off. ""Brad or Brian, something like that. I'm picturing the nametag, and there was definitely a 'B' involved," Annie says, sounding unsure. The ladies give skeptical glances at her. "Look, Sadie just left, okay? I was in a dark place," Annie adds defensively.

"Girl, call his shady ass and get that receipt back," Ruby says crossing her arms. "I'm trying homie, but he's ghosting me hard," Annie whined, throwing her hands up. "Real winner you've got there," Elizabeth muttered sarcastically, while Hayley shook her head, her expression a mix of disbelief and amusement. "Yeah, yeah, Beth, I know. I guess he got what he wanted," Annie says, her voice tinged with defeat.Elizabeth and Hayley give eachother a look before Elizabeth sighs.

"Okay. We will fix this." Elizabeth says making Annie look at her in confusion. "How? You can't do returns for cash without a receipt." Ruby questions in confusion. "Okay, well I personally would love a solution that doesn't involve crawling back to Brad-Brian." Annie utters making Hayley look at her. "Like?" Hayley questions looking at Annie. "Well, like, we could give Gang Friend the cash that we do have, and the flat screens." Annie suggests making Hayley give her a look like she's crazy. "Yeah, 'cause that went so well with the Hummels." Elizabeth says sarcastically. "Nope, I value my life." Ruby bluntly says. "Yeah not doing that again" Hayley adds in.

"I am not going back to those lunatics short again." Ruby says making Hayley hum in agreement. "I very much agree." Elizabeth says nodding in agreement.   "And can we please stop calling him Gang Friend?" Ruby asks. "Okay, what's his name, then?" Annie questions as Ruby grows quiet. "R--Ron?" Ruby questions. "Yo, you see Ron cap that B?" Annie asks sarcastically. "Okay, it's not Ron." Ruby mumbles to herself. "Rio." Hayley blurts out. "Okay." Annie says shrugging.

"His name's Rio." Hayley answers making the ladies look at her. "Oh, is his name Rio?" Ruby teases, nudging Hayley with a playful grin, which earned her an eye roll in response. "I'm sorry, but looks like we're gonna have to go find your... the guy." Elizabeth says making Annie groan and lay on the counter. "Could you be worse with names?" Ruby says looking at her. "All right." Annie grumbles in annoyance.

"You guys have fun with that" Hayley says getting up slowly. "Wait your not coming?" Elizabeth asks as Hayley shakes her head. "I got a doctors appointment today. I ain't missing it" Hayley says rubbing her stomach. "Damn.. alright I'll fill you in later than" Elizabeth says as Hayley nods.

...

"You guys had to do what?" Hayley says laughing over the phone as she lays down. "Dig in the dumpster for those damn receipts. Annie says I let people get away with everything. Do you think I do?" Elizabeth says making Hayley's eye widen. Silence erupted as Hayley looks at the phone. "Do I really?" Elizabeth says as Hayley sighs. "Look there are things you do let people get away with. Dean stupidass is one of them. I'm not telling you how to live your life but I am suggesting to put your foot down a bit more." Hayley advises causing Elizabeth to nod in agreement.

"Your right..look I gotta go I need to cook dinner I'll see you tomorrow" Elizabeth says as Hayley nods. "Alright see you tomorrow sis" Hayley says before hanging up and then turning the tv on.

Hayley's phone rings again, cutting through the silence. She glances at the screen and rolls her eyes before answering. "What?" she snaps, not bothering to hide her annoyance "Wow, is that how you answer the phone now?" Chris's voice comes through, teasing and light. "Didn't your mom teach you any manners?"

"I'm about two seconds away from hanging up," Hayley warns, her tone sharp. "So if you've got something to say, spit it out."

Chris chuckles, unfazed by her irritation. "I heard you had an appointment today. Any reason you didn't let me know?" He questions as Hayley clenches the phone tighter, her eyes narrowing. "Seriously? You've shown up once, and then you disappeared like you always do. Why would I think you'd care?" Hayley says her voice dripping with venom.

"Of course I care Hayley that's my child" Chris says making Hayley scoff. "Got a shitty way of showing it" Hayley comments. "You can't just waltz in and out whenever it suits you and expect a pat on the back for it. If you want me be a dad then be a fucking dad if not leave because we don't need any dead weight" Hayley says before hanging up.

As she sits up her feels a kick making her smile. "We will get through this together" she says rubbing her swollen stomach.

...

The next day, Hayley was walking into her house to see agent tuner there making her groan in annoyance. "Mr turner we have to stop meeting like this. It's how rumors spread" Hayley says making Jimmy look at her with a chuckle."I just wanted to speak to you" Jimmy says making her tilt her head. "Oh, why's that?" Hayley questions. "Do you know this guy?" He asks as he pulls out a picture of Rio. Hayley squints her eyes and pretends to think. "Hmm no." Hayley says shaking her head.  "This is your house, right?" Jimmy questions, eyes narrowing slightly as he studies her.

"All these houses look the same; it's possible it's mine," Hayley says with a casual shrug, trying to keep her cool. "But you've never seen this guy?" Jimmy questions as Hayley shakes her head. "Because, see, from this angle here, it looks like maybe he's coming right out of your front door," Jimmy points out, tapping the picture with a smirk, clearly trying to rattle her. Hayley glances at the photo, her pulse quickening, but she keeps her face neutral. "Look, I told you no. Anything else you'd like to know?" Hayley asks, her patience wearing thin. "Huh, okay, well. I'll swing by later," Jimmy proposes, and Hayley stares at him in disbelief, her eyes narrowing. "Uh, no," Hayley responds flatly, standing her ground.

"Why not?" He asks making her look at him as if he was crazy. "Seriously? I barely know you and my baby father wouldn't like that either." Hayley answers in a duh tone. "Then I think you should come by my office," he suggests, slipping a business card into her hand.

Hayley glances at the card, then back at him, her eyes narrowing. "Uh, okay, is tomorrow okay?" she asks, already plotting how to dodge this. "Today's better," Jimmy comments, his smile tight, a hint of challenge in his voice.

Hayley gives him a long, hard look, weighing her options. "I'll see what I can do," she finally says before turning on her heel and walks into her house.
