The following morning, Daniel arranged for a boat to take them to Vamos. It took an hour and a half to cross the waters to the island. Daniel informed the Draik and Angel that it was the island farthest east in Ellada and closer to the neighboring country, Toruiye, than any other landmass or island in Ellada.
When they arrived at the island, they found that it was very barren. There were no trees and very little vegetation. There was a large beach near the dock, then a field of very large rocks. A small path led through the boulders, taking them to the ruins. There were probably three buildings at most making up the rubble. It made it easy to search through and find the trapdoor.
Tadeas lifted the door, had Satiya and Daniel go down, then walked backward down the stairs, lowering the trapdoor on top of himself.
"At least this way they won't be able to come in while we have the next vision," he shrugged.
"That's a good idea," Daniel nodded in approval.
Satiya had spread her fires around the room and Daniel inspected the carved letters in the panel on the wall. When he was sure he had it correct, he turned around and addressed the winged pair.
"It sounds like these artifacts will create a barrier to keep Mors from escaping into the greater world, but also they will slow him and his appendages down, making them easier to defeat."
Satiya pursed her lips, "Well, that's something, I guess."
They walked into the next room, Satiya casting her flames around, and Tadeas walked up to the stone stand. He drew out the artifact carefully and walked back to Daniel and Satiya. They returned to the first room as he tucked the item into his messenger bag.
"Are you willing to go for another vision, Satiya? Tadeas?" Daniel asked.
Satiya didn't want to go through that again, though it was not that long with Tadeas stopping it, "I'm not sure I'm necessary for it. Tadeas is the one able to make it stop."
"I can't initiate the vision, though," Tadeas twisted his mouth to the side.
"Have you tried?"
Tadeas blinked at the Angel, "Uh, I don't... know... how? I'm not an oracle?"
Satiya looked at Tadeas for a minute, thoughtful, "These visions are nothing like I've ever experienced as an oracle, so even if you were able to initiate one here, that wouldn't necessarily mean you were an oracle, too. It would be interesting to see if you could do it, but it could just mean these ruins were targeting you as Primary Archangel, still, and we already know they are doing that. We probably shouldn't take the time to have you figure out how. We can just do it like last time."
Tadeas nodded and they took their positions with Tadeas gently touching Satiya's left arm with his left hand. Satiya closed her eyes and breathed deeply. Again, she felt a tingle from Tadeas' hand, though she thought maybe it was stronger. Maybe he wasn't being as gentle with his touch this time. She almost wished he would have grabbed onto her arm entirely so it wouldn't tingle so much. She forced the thoughts from her mind and focused on her breathing.
The wild noise came first, blasting her with a cacophony of sound. Then the rush of images in a dizzying blur. The tingle that was Tadeas pricked her somewhere on her mental forehead and everything stopped with the force of a freight train to her ribcage. She could actually see little silver flecks of light on the white background that remained, like she had been punched and was seeing stars. The word said "Lirgos." After a moment, the image faded to black.
Satiya opened her eyes, breathing heavily, and looked at Daniel, who was standing to her right. He was watching Tadeas, who she could hear was coughing fiercely again. She looked to her left and saw Tadeas had taken a couple steps back and had a hand to his chest as he coughed like he was trying to expel his lung.
