Vinny enjoyed his solo date. He had brunch and a few mimosas. "Refill please." Vinny motioned to the waiter. He enjoyed the finer things in life. He sat and watched a group of girls giggling cause they had too many mimosas to drink.

He wished he was that carefree. He looked around and took in the place. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. Mountains and the river were a sight to behold. He took in a few deep breaths of the fresh air and felt calm fill him.

Vinny knew that he lived on borrowed time. He had too many enemies and at anytime he could be gone. "Hello?" Vinny answered his phone reluctantly. Whenever someone called him it was bad news. "Okay, tell them I will have their product in three days." Vinny said and hung up. He just wanted peace in his life and that meant he had to takeover Oga's territory. "It will be mine. Cling, cling bitches" Vinny said before he drank his second mimosa.

Nothing like pouring love on yourself. He went for a little shopping spree for some retail therapy cause this whole Thabiso situation had him stressed out. When this was all done he should book a massage and some therapy. He learned the value of taking care of himself first when he almost lost his mind.

Mental health issues are real. Especially when you have childhood trauma you never dealt with. He wanted Thabiso's throne so badly cause it had legit money. He could retire from his fucked up reality and focus on the clubs. Thomas will make sure the criminal side is taken care off. That was his plan to get out. But, Thabiso was a thorn on his side.

One more stop he thought when he got into his car. Vinny parked his car at the orphanage and got out. All the kids ran to him and hugged him. "Hi, Uncle Vinny. Did you bring us toys?" The little girl asked with a huge smile on her face. "Yep, go call Ma to come get them out of the car. The kids ran in glee to the house.

He walked in and spoke to the care takers for a few minutes. He had brought groceries, and toys. The money was as sent through on a monthly basis. He took care of these kids so they never needed to be like him. He hated the monster he had become but he needed to be that monster to look after his family.

Vinny also known as uncle Vinny grew up dirty poor. It was always him and his mother against the world. His father kicked them out when he got a younger wife pregnant. His maternal family didn't want them cause of the lies his father told. He swore on a shrine that Vinny wasn't his son and everyone believed the lie instead of getting DNA.

They wondered the streets of Abuja for years begging and selling scraps on the streets. They slept under a bridge in a makeshift shelter and Vinny's mother looked for cleaning work everywhere but the rich would stick up their noses.

"How could you work in my house smelling like shit." They would say, before slamming the gate. She eventually met a man who ran a drug house. He hired her to clean up after the drug addicts. His mother had no choice but the man paid good. He was a very tall and skinny man but his eyes were pure evil. Oga Chris was his name.

They were able to rent a small room and finally life was getting better. Vinny would go along to help his mother lift any heavy thing or fight off an addict and how tried anything with his mother.

On one of the days a druggy slapped his mother for spilling his crack off the table. Most of the addicts in the house were rich actors, politicians and celebrities. The crack house was a mansion and well guarded. No one would ever imagine such things were happening in there. The man was about to punch his mother, when Vinny beat the life out of the guy and the boss was empress with his skill to kill. That day changed their lives forever.

Vinny was employed by Oga Chris to handle any altercations. Vinny quickly became Oga Chris's right hand man. He ran drugs for him with other young boys until he lead most of the drug houses. Nothing moved without his permission. Vinny knew the only way to get his mother the life she deserved meant he had to be a cold hearted beast.

He was the guy to go to for anything and everything. He had no limits to his cruelty but he loved his mother so deeply. He hid her from everyone. Better yet he hid her from his sons. He didn't want rumours about his deeds to break her heart. He ensured she had all she needed but she was not allowed to have any contact with him. He would go to her but she never knew where he lived and what he did.

When he got his first proper paying gig he got his mother a house. She cried uncontrollably and sang praises to God. Little did she know that God had nothing to do with his work. He was pure evil on these streets but he always told himself it was a necessary evil. He was not going back to the streets.

He never told his mother what kind of work he did, although she probably knew. She was his safe space and he never wanted to bring her more pain. "You are my angel sent from God to protect me." His mother would say. Protecting her he did. He would do it til his dying breath.

"Vinny." Angel called out when she heard the front door open. "Hi, mama." Vinny said smiling. "I have missed you." His mother said hugging him. Vinny adored his mother and her big heart. Before he could even say a word he heard loud footsteps coming from the stairs. "Brother!" Lina and Kim yelled.

The two brats weren't really blood his mother adopted them off the streets and spoiled them rotten but Vinny loved them dearly. "Kim, Lina." Vinny said smiling as he embraced them. They had no family back home they were kicked out of their family house when their parents passed on. Vinny went back a few years ago and got the house back but they never wanted to go back.

"So you two are making mom cook alone?" Vinny said scoldingly. "No, I made the rice and Lina made the vegetable. Mom insisted on making the meat. She made your favourite." Kim said smiling.

"I got the two of you some gifts in my car." Vinny said smiling. The two girls took off to get their gift from the car. "How are they doing in school?" Vinny asked his mother. "Kim is graduating next year and Lina is done. She is looking for a job maybe you know someone." His mother said. "I don't want her working for anyone I know." Vinny said softly. "Huh?" His mother asked. "Nothing, I will ask around." Vinny said.

"No, way! You got me the same bag as Kim Kardashian!" Kim yelled. "You love it?" Vinny asked grinning. "Yes, thank you bother!" Kim said hugging him.

Vinny loved his family so much and he did everything in his power to keep them far away from his world. He would kill anyone who as much as looked at them wrong. They were his safe space.
