Stingray Bay

[Welcome To The City]

"Welcome to Stingray Bay! The coolest and most fresh city this side of the Hadal Bay area!"

Inklings, Octolings, and a newly revealed species, the Mantalings, all go about their day in the big asymmetrical city.

A few buses, metro trains, and sky trams can be seen taking its visitors and residents to their destinations.

"This city is home to many creatures alike, living peacefully as they do, and what do they do in their free time? Come on, you know this by now!"

A group of cephalopods and cartilagins (i.e The Mantalings), spawn through their individual spawn points, four players on each team, each with a weapon of their own.

After the timer starts, both teams shoot down into the roof of the local mall, Codfish Mall, sectored off by supplies and walls making a stage for the teams to play their favorite games, Turf War and Ranked battles.

"That's right! Turf War and Ranked based battles are these sea creatures favorite pastime, and if you're wondering where to go to participate, here's your answer!"

In the inner city is a district known as 'The Splattervault Plaza'. This is where most everyone goes in their free time. Wether to do some window shopping, buy or repair some weapons, or just relax and scroll through their phones.

Up a set of stairs is the Tower where everyone goes to sign up for either a Turf War battle, or, one of the four Ranked battles, including, Clam Blitz, Rainmaker, Splat Zones, or Tower Control.

"While you're in Ranked battle, you have the opportunity to up your rank! From C, all the way to the legendary X rank, see how far you can go!"

Next to the main tower on its left is a cozy looking cafe where some of its residents were sitting outside, inside, entering, or exiting with their beverages or snacks.

"This is the Coral Cafe, here you can buy different kinds of food and drinks that will give you temporary boosts in battle! And maybe even some cool buffs as well!"

Down the stairs from the tower and cafe is the four mentioned shops, stylish buildings, all spaced out equally with their own unique designs.

"Let's check out the local shopping scene, shall we?"

The forth building over to the right is the headgear store, Hidden Reef, inside is a Crawfish who has an intimidating vibe to her. She has a bandage wrapped around one of her claws.

"Welcome to Hidden Reef, the local headgear store and its owner Reya. She may look intimidating, but deep down she's just a chill going gal!"

Next to Hidden Reef is Shoreline, a sort of sporty, but elegant look. A little Clownfish girl sat on a stool swinging her legs idly.

"This is Shoreline, the local shoe store run by a mother and her daughter, Lulu. She may be small, but she knows a lot about the types of fresh kicks they sell. If you're lucky, you may just get a discount."

The next store over at the other end is Maroon Shore, the clothing store. Inside is a two story, modern yet stylish interior. Behind the front desk is an Octoling with short purple tentacles, who seems to also have a fancy personality to him.

"Over at Maroon Shore is Maru, he's an Octoling, though he has much more of a passion for fashion rather than battles. Just watch out, he has quite the critical eye."

Lastly, the middle store, The Midnight Zone, unlike Inkopolis and Splatsville, this weapon shop isn't run by a certain horseshoe crab, but a pair of Acanthodians.

The two siblings stand behind the counter, the upfront girl has a confident grin on her face, showing off her sharp teeth, while her brother off to the side has generally bored/tired look to him, his mouth hidden by his mask.

"And let but not least, the best place in the area to buy and repair your weapons... The Midnight Zone! Here, Shortfin and her brother Saw offer some of the top weapons in the area, including brands such as Silver Reef or Barracuda!"

Two other buildings on the left are two that should look very familiar, that being Hotlantis and the Shoal.

"Over here on the left is none other than Hotlantis. Everyone's go-to place for decorations for their locker or even their apartment!"

We pan over to the Shoal next, which seems to be a popular area for the young sea creatures.

"And here is the Shoal! Perfect for any game loving creature!"

Back up at the tower to the right is a circular tower, much like the tower next to it, except on the inside is a recording studio for the cities favorite music group.

"And of course, the city isn't complete without their idols! Check out this recent Splatfest!"

Last Splatfest, everyone was competing, having fun, inking away to their hearts desire with the motivation for their choice to win and be declared the best.

Across the plaza is of course, the beach, where food vendors and others have set up shop for the event, while the cities idols stand atop a stage, the night sky and moon illuminated behind them.

"What's up, Stingray Bay?!" The female inkling yells out in excitement, with was met with a cheer from the crowd.

"You all ready for another all night, all exciting Splatfest?!" The male inkling next to her announces, received with another cheer. He had more of a calm, suave demeanor to him

In the middle of them, a male Mantaling crosses his arms with a cocky, yet confident smirk. "Then how's about it, DJ?! Hit us with that spicy wasabi beat!" He raises his arms in excitement, ready to begin the night.

Behind the three is a figure masked by shadows, the only noticeable thing about him is the giant glowing green X scar on his front tentacle and his glowing green eyes with purple irises.

He lets out a laugh before revealing himself to the crowd, an Octoling with a confident, sharp smile. Some might say similar to a certain other DJ.

"Hahahaha! Check it, small fries! DJ Octavian in the house!"

Beginning to DJ the set, the other three idols begin to move along to the beat. This was Stingray Bay's biggest music group, Kraken 4.

"Kraken 4! Stingray Bay's most popular idol group! Maki, Inari, Coral, and the newest addition to the group, DJ Octavian! He arrived on the scene just a few months ago. Wonder where he came from?"

Three teams stand somewhere off in the plaza, their species vary, but they seem to be having fun just around the plaza. Eventually they pass by a screen advertising the next tournament, the biggest, most challenging tournament in the city...
