~Alex~
I was angry; How could he let me stroke him while I was drunk? Ugh. 'to be fair, it was me.' Cleo purred.'Really, our first time drunk?' This just made me angrier; she gave one of my firsts up.
Now blocking out Cleo, She rambled on, probably justifying this, but I believe she couldn't. It irritated me because I could at least excuse him since Cleo attacked him, but I would still be embarrassed for a few days.
I had left the library out of embarrassment, realizing that when I got to the hall, I had no idea where I was going. So I headed down to the living room, walking past random men whom I didn't recognize, and went straight to the front porch so I could sit and think.
Beth popped out of nowhere, blocking my way. "hey Alex, I thought we could hang out," she gleamed.
"Marcus sent you, didn't he?" I asked, annoyed.
She looked embarrassed. "technically, yes, but if I had known you were coming this way, I would have been here. The breakfast ended a little after you guys left, as the others had places to be," she smiled.
I wiped my face with my hand out of frustration; nowhere around here could I get a space to think. "where to?" I said, sure that I didn't have an option.
"Where would you like to go?" She asked, interlocking our arms, swinging and shutting the door behind us to the porch. We were just outside the front porch door. She wore black leggings with an off-white T-shirt, looking less done up than she had always been. "we will walk in the forest. There are plenty of warriors around, just in case."
"in case?" I asked, following her off the porch.
She looked uncomfortable before returning to her smile. "Just for safety." Not responding, I stood silent. "This should be good," she said before sitting crisscrossing in the grass; I followed her, doing the same awkwardly. So, how are you?"
The question was laughable, considering me and Marcus fought , but I responded, "All right," though it was the opposite. I was still embarrassed from earlier and afraid of my uncle.
"you sure you bolted pretty fast to the front door?" she commented.
I sighed. "Marcus told me I did explicit things while I was drunk."
Looking away, Beth seemed to switch from stunned to angry. "he took you the first time drunk?! I'll-"
I cut her off. "Hand job," I stammered out.
She sighed almost in relief, "not trying to excuse his actions, but at least he didn't have you while you were drunk."
"Sure, but it was also my first time." This was mortifying, but I could trust Beth; she would know the most. It occurred to me like a slap in the face. "I'm talking sexual things about your brother. I'm so sorry."
She laughed. "Its OK, you're also my friend. I pretend the boy you're talking about isn't my brother." my heart warmed at the statement.
"I appreciate you." I lay in the grass, smelling it in deeply. It smelled calm and seemed to help my nerves. "thank you."
She looked down at me and cleared her throat. "When will you tell Marcus what you are?"
"When I find the words to tell him," I stated, and she seemed to sigh.
..
.
Five days had passed, and similarly, I'd been avoiding Marcus, seeming to be the only thing I was good at. The full moon party prep had started, and like last time, there was lots of food, decorations, and emotions. I was helping Beth put up the decorations right now. "a little higher!" Beth yelled as I maneuvered atop one of their barstools and hung a string with flags to the top of the wall.
