~Marcus~
When I woke up, something felt off, but nothing seemed out of place. My next thought turned into a mind-link: 'Any news?' I asked Tyler. 'No, sir, only some bits of fabric. We think it was meant to throw us off,' Tyler responded.

Sighing in relief, I'll get some paperwork done and talk to Kyle. 'Are you free?' I linked him. 'Yeah, headed to the office now, 'he confirmed. I got out of bed dressed in a sweatshirt, slipped on jeans and boots, and did my hygiene routine. My plan was all I could think about: move Alex permanently into our room and eliminate the threat so she could take Luna position and be our queen.

I was jogging to my office about the shirt scattered on my land. I opened the door and immediately saw Kyle sitting and talking to Tyler and Miles until they all looked up at me. "We can leave," Miles offered.

I held my hand up to him. "no need. Who smelled what, and where was it?" I asked, closing the door behind me.

"It was me alpha," Tyler said, and I joined them, sitting across from them in my leather seat. We had seats for this reason; we never knew how many people we would have in the office. "Do you think they're trying to get attention or maybe to kill again?" Miles asked.

"Beta, what do you think? " I asked toward Kyle.

He sucked in a breath, breaking the long stare he had on me. "I think we could align with other alphas for information," he suggested.

"maybe get with others to help eradicate the problem?" I glanced at my phone for the time. It was a little later than noon.

"Some packs have no kill rules," Kyle reminds us. Most of those packs don't last because the enemies keep coming.

"but some packs have no rules," Tyler added.

"Well, Kyle and I will look into it. For now, Tyler and Miles, you have been dismissed. Thank you for your time," I stated.

Both of them shook their heads in understanding before leaving. "Has it ever been this bad regarding Rouges?" Kyle asked.

"Yes, unfortunately," I said, leaning back in my chair. "when my parents lived, I heard of a time when there was a rogue uprise on all packs."

"Well, we will-"

Beth Opened the office door abruptly. "Sorry to interrupt, but has either of you seen Alex?" the question worried me, but I shook it off, hoping for the best.

"she could still be sleeping," Kyle suggested, avoiding her eyes on him.

"I tried the room, the bathrooms, the living room, the kitchen, and the front yard," she stated. "Marcus, I even checked your room."

Sam growled, "I'll check her room for anything to suggest she's been taken," I said, hoping she hadn't run away again. I didn't even want to think about it that way. I hope she won't run away with all the threats.

I rose from my chair and quickly left the room, going to the guest room.

It wasn't the scent that made me worry; it was the fact that nothing in the room smelled of anything. I had never encountered this before; everything had a scent. The bed was made, and nothing seemed out of place; everything was normal. Speaking too soon, I looked at the sunflower on her dresser, sniffing deeply, smelling an odd odor. It was nothing you could find in a store, but I still didn't know what it was, and the window was still locked.

This doesn't make sense.

"Witches have been seen outside of the pack border," Beth said after she ran in, almost frantic. She put her face up to the sky, inhaling deeply through her nose, probably noticing the lack of smell as I had.
