She stomped out on the field's grass and stopped in her tracks as she realized where she was. The walls around her were of great multitude. Towering over the green and grassy terrain that sat in the middle of it. She sat in it.
All the feelings that came towards her, but awe is the only one that lingered. She was trapped; she was encased in between these walls. It scared her, the thought of being here forever. But was there worse? She couldn't remember what was beyond those walls.
In all, the grass was beautiful. The trees were knit together and dark. It was balanced. The walls offered a dark shade. The sun countered by sending rays of light that warmed the green grass below her feet. The shadows of the boys danced around the field.
As they worked and interacted. Could they.. could they be just like her? Real feelings? A realization that this is all they have to work with? Have they come to an acceptance with fate? Was this fate?
She stared out at an opening in these walls. It ran to the top, covered in ivy. She watched as small bodies emerged from it, their stamina faltering as they had reached where they planned to be.
Curiosity drew her closer to the group of three, newly emerged from those large doors that now shook the ground as they closed.
It confused her. Large stone walls like the four that surrounded the field began to move smoothly and meet together with a loud shake.
She cautiously stepped over rocks to make her way to the doors. The boys who had run out were sat together, talking now as they jogged together towards the building she had come out from. Their clothes were stained with dirt, their boots were worn out and so were the gloves and bags on their back.
Sweat dripped down their foreheads and forearms.
She stood in front of the now closed doors and stared at them.
How could they open and close with ease?
Lost in her thoughts a hand appeared on her shoulder. She turned her head back to face the cause and screamed. A large insect stood face to face with her. A loud clicking noise had intensified the longer she stared at it.
It had spikes that pushed through its skin and lots of legs. She screamed again as she fell back against the smooth doors that had closed. She looked back at the stone wall only for it to turn white. The rest around her became that same clean color. Tables, people, screens, flashing blue buttons were all around her.
She closed her eyes and hoped that they would leave on their own. After what felt like hours, another hand grabbed her.
She didn't dare open her eyes.
"Hey. Greenie, what the hell are you doing?" A boy's voice had filled the eerie silence. Greenie, a word she now could recognize.
"Come on, open your eyes. Guys I think she's dead!" She opened her eyes at that second, afraid that what he said would be true if she didn't.
She was met with Gally who was crouched down in her face. She yelled and pushed him as soon as they made eye contact. "Get away. GET AWAY!" Panic filled her body as the boys came in a large group to look at her.
"We need to get you on a leash, you know that?" Gally huffed as he dusted himself off.
"Woah, let's just not keep hitting people." I recognized as Newt came closer with another boy trailing close behind him.
"Hey, Greenie. I'm Alby." He says getting a bit closer. Slowly he inched forward. She eyed his hands, which he kept in the air seemingly to calm her. "I ain't gonna grab you or nothing. I just wanna know what happened."
