____________________________________Birla Mansion
Nyra's time in Udaipur was a whirlpool of emotions. The city's charm, which once held so many beautiful memories, now seemed to haunt her with both nostalgia and pain. The once-familiar streets and places carried shadows of her childhood, stood with the complexities of her current life.
The next afternoon, Nyra wandered into the old garden. The space, though now overgrown, still held memories of its past beauty. As she walked through the garden, she was drawn to a corner where she and her Father had spent many afternoons.
---
FlashbackThe garden was beautiful , the flowers in full bloom. 6 years old Nyra, with her father's encouragement, was planting a new tree. Abhimanyu kneeled beside her, showing her how to gently place the seeds in the soil.
"You know, Nyra," Abhimanyu said, his voice full of warmth, "these plants will grow just like you will. With care and love, they'll bloom."
Nyra looked up with wide eyes, her small hands covered in soil. "Will they be as pretty as the ones we see now?"
"Even more beautiful," Abhimanyu assured her, ruffling her hair. "Just like you."
--
PresentShe was sitting on the bench which held many memories in the garden, lost in her own thoughts, when Abhimanyu approached. He had noticed her absence from the main house and felt the need to check on her.
"Nyra," he began gently, "mind if I join you?"
Nyra looked up, her expression guarded. "Sure."
Abhimanyu sat down beside her, careful not to invade on her space. "This garden... it hasn't changed much, has it? Still full of memories."
Nyra nodded slowly. "Yes, it's like a piece of the past that refuses to move on."
Abhimanyu sighed, his gaze shifting to the overgrown plants. "I remember when Akshara and I used to spend hours here, planting and talking. She always had this dream of making the garden the most beautiful place for you."
Nyra's eyes softened. "Did she always made everything seem so perfect?"
Abhimanyu's voice trembled slightly. " Yeah!!I've missed her every day since... since she passed. It's been hard to find joy in these places without her."
Nyra turned to face him, her expression softening. "It must be hard, for you. I don't know if I could ever understand the pain of losing her."
Abhimanyu's eyes were filled with a deep sadness. "It is hard. And I know I've made mistakes. I've struggled with how to move forward, how to honor her memory while also trying to be a good father to you."
Nyra looked away, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've struggled too. I've been so angry and hurt, feeling like I was left behind while you moved on. I don't know how to let go of that."
Abhimanyu reached out, placing a hand gently on hers. "I understand. I know I can't change the past, but I want to work on our future. I want to make things right, to find a way for us to heal."
Nyra looked at her father's hand on hers, the gesture stirring a mixture of emotions within her. "I want to try, but it's hard. I need time"
--
The Next MorningNyra again wandered through the garden, lost in thought. The familiar scent of jasmine and roses brought back memories of her childhood, playing in this very garden with her cousins. As she walked, she stumbled upon an old swing, its ropes frayed but still sturdy.
She remembered the days when he would push her on the swing, both of them laughing without a care in the world.
Flashback 2
"Papaa, push me higher!" a young Nyra had exclaimed, her face lit up with joy.
Abhimanyu chuckled. "Hold on tight, princess. Here we go!"
The swing went higher, and Nyra's laughter echoed through the garden. Those moments were filled with pure happiness,
Present
Nyra sighed, the memory fading away. She felt a pang of sadness, knowing those carefree days were long gone. The swing, once a symbol of their bond, now felt like a distant dream.
