Captain George Stacy arrived home after a long and tiring day at the NYPD. The night air was crisp as he approached his front door, his thoughts consumed by the various cases and challenges that law enforcement presented in the city that never slept.
When he stepped inside his house, a heavy feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. The air in the house felt different—charged with an unspoken tension. The silence was palpable, and he couldn't shake the sensation that he was not alone. His detective instincts kicked in, and he cautiously moved through the dimly lit rooms, hand instinctively reaching for his service weapon. There was a presence in the house, someone else besides him. He could feel it in the hairs standing on the back of his neck, in the way the shadows seemed to shift and dance.
The quietness of the house was shattered as a shadow detached itself from the darkness. Before Captain Stacy could react, a powerful force so fast and fierce slammed into him, a force that stole the breath from his lungs, sending him sprawling to the ground. Dazed and disorientated, he struggled to regain his footing as the mysterious assailant closed in.
In the dim light, the relentless pursuer now stood over the fallen captain. His eyes gleamed with a mix of intensity and satisfaction. The room seemed to shrink in the presence of this enigmatic figure, a predator in human form. He circled him like a vulture closing in on its prey.
As he raised his weapon for the final blow, he leaned in, his face inches from Captain Stacy's.
"I have been watching, waiting, and now the time has come for the ultimate prey," he remarked, a sly grin playing on his lips. "But remember this moment, Captain. Remember that in the end, the hunter always prevails. Tell that to your red huntress."
With a final, brutal blow, Kraven delivered the finishing strike, leaving Captain Stacy battered and broken on the floor.

Elektra walked quietly down the sterile hospital corridor, her footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. Her heart felt heavy with worry for Captain Stacy after news of the attack sent shockwaves through the precinct the following day, and the hunt for the assailant responsible intensified. As she approached his room, she steeled herself for what she might find.
Pushing the door open, Elektra was surprised to see Victor sitting by Captain Stacy's bedside, his expression sombre. The atmosphere in the room was tense, laden with unspoken words and unresolved tension. The detective looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of relief and apprehension.
"Elektra," he greeted, his voice barely above a whisper.
She moved closer, taking in the sight of Captain Stacy lying in the hospital bed, his face still marked with bruises from the attack. His face was pale, and various bandages covered his injuries. Elektra and Victor exchanged glances, the weight of the situation sinking in.
"How is he?" Elektra asked, her concern evident.
"He's stable, but it's touch and go," he admitted, his voice tight with emotion. "The doctors say he'll make a full recovery."
Concern etched Elektra's features as she observed the captain's injuries.
"This wasn't just a... random attack, was it?" She questioned, knowing the answer but testing the waters.
"I think it's connected to the cut on your arm," Victor replied, his voice low. "Someone out there has a vendetta against you."
"I don't know. But whoever it is, somebody has to stop it."
Elektra's gaze flickered with a mix of emotions - worry for Captain Stacy, frustration at the situation, and hidden knowledge of the true perpetrator, Kraven. She knew in her heart that it was Kraven's doing, and there was no doubt that he was after her through the people she cared about. As if sensing her inner turmoil, Victor reached out and took Elektra's hand in his.
"I'm sorry about what happened at Thanksgiving," he began, his voice tinged with regret. "My father... he can be unbearable. I never expected him to react that way."
Elektra squeezed his hand gently, offering him a reassuring smile.
"I know you didn't mean it," she replied, her voice soft and understanding. "We can't always control our family, can we?"
As the tension eased, there was an unexpected shift. Victor, perhaps driven by a surge of emotion or a need for connection amid chaos, leaned in and kissed Elektra. It caught her off guard, the sudden warmth of his lips against hers, a surprising intensity amid uncertainty.
Startled, Elektra pulled back, her eyes searching his for an explanation. Victor, too, seemed taken aback by his impulsiveness.
"Victor, I..." she started, but her words trailed off as she struggled to find the right thing to say.
"I'm so sorry," the detective stammered, his eyes wide with realisation. "It's just... being with you, it feels... different. I never felt this way with anybody else. Not even with my closest colleagues."
Elektra blinked, still trying to process the sudden turn of events. She reached out and gently touched Victor's cheek.
"I get it," she reassured him, her voice filled with compassion. "We're all dealing with a lot right now. We'll get to the bottom of this, sooner or later."
Meanwhile, high above, on a rooftop opposite the hospital, Kraven observed the pair through the scope of his rifle when they left the hospital. His eyes, cold and calculating, never left her for a second. He had seen the way she looked at his son, the way she tried to protect him. It filled him with a rage that burned deep in his chest.
Kraven's fingers tightened around the knife he carried, a cruel smile playing on his lips. He had a plan, a test of strength and cunning. One that would prove who was truly worthy of standing by Victor's side, and it wasn't this woman. She was a distraction, a weakness that needed to be eliminated.
"I won't let this continue," Kraven muttered to himself, clenching his fists.
