SUMMARY Lorelai Danh has never taken relationships seriously. She loved sex as much as the next girl but nothing was coming between her and her career. Since she was five years old and her dad took her to peewee soccer Lorelai knew her path. She knew it was a long shot, being an athlete was one of the hardest things in the world. Lorelai spent her whole life training and getting good grades so she could get into her scholarship to Stanford. And she got it. But it wasn't over. It was the first step towards the rest of her life.
Meeting Art Donaldson was a complete accident. He was a shooting star that wasn't supposed to crash land on her. Art Donaldson was the last boy that Lorelai thought she would fall for but from the moment she saw him she knew he was special. Maybe it was his smirk or his quick wit but she was drawn in.
Lorelai thought it was going to be brief, a college fling that she would look back on fondly. But it wasn't. Art stuck on her like a thorn on her heart. Thirteen years after Lorelai met Art, he was still in her life. Even though she hated it. In a perfect world, she would never see him again. But she couldn't bring herself to do it. Even though he was married and she was soon to be engaged, Lorelai couldn't walk away from the first boy that made her feel alive.
But just as Lorelai thinks all hope is lost, Art competes in a challenger event that rocks his life and his marriage.

i literally had one dream about mike faist and was convinced i needed to write this.
a small disclaimer just to say that this is going to be messy and slightly toxic but if you've watched challengers you should know that. i could go into depth about my stance on who's right and who's wrong in challengers but instead of burning your ears i'll let the book tell you what i think.
also similarly i kinda wanna make a patrick zweig fic so would that be something you'd wanna see?? i can't have it mixed in with this book because if explored the more patrick is an asshole perspective so it would have to be a standalone separate from this one so i could explore his side of things more thoroughly.
anyways let's get started with this cause i'm hella excited!
