CRUSHER
CHAPTER FOURART DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. Don't misunderstand, he loved it. Lorelai was by far the best sex he ever had and probably the best he was going to have. But after their little rendezvous, he woke up to Lorelai missing from his bed and a dreadful feeling of guilt and shame. He thought for sure that they had officially ruined their relationship.
She hadn't answered a single call or text and Art had spiralled into fear.
A whole four days had passed and Art was trying to pretend that he was unbothered. Patrick was back for a visit, still with Tashi, and Lorelai wasn't talking to him.
Art knew that he was going to have to see Lorelai tonight at the sports social. Basically just a big party for all the athletes at Stanford. He was dreading it.
Patrick, Art, and Tashi all arrived at the party together. Art was trying to ignore the couple as they couldn't keep their hands off each other. But when he tried to distract himself, he thought of Lorelai again and that was just as painful.
Lorelai had arrived at the party with the soccer team. She had no friends outside her sport except Art. The blonde boy spotted her in the crowd like a beacon. She was by far the most gorgeous person here and he wasn't the only person that thought so.
Art's only option was between Lorelai and spending his night was Patrick and Tashi. He took a deep breath and walked towards the girl. "Hey."
Lorelai's eyes lit up. Darcy and Gia gave her a knowing smirk as they turned their backs. They didn't want to stray too far, wanting to hear the conversation. "Hey."
"How have you been?"
"I've been fine."
Art nodded his head with pursed lips. "Good."
Lorelai squinted with a curious look. "What's up with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"You're acting weird."
"You're acting weird." Art exclaimed.
"No I'm not."
"You're acting weird by not acting weird."
Lorelai barked a laugh. "What?"
Art stepped forward and lowered his voice. He was very aware of the team of girls that were listening in. "Are we going to talk about what happened?"
Lorelai laughed. "We had sex, Art. You don't need to talk in code."
"You left."
"I had practice. We have this game against UCLA tomorrow and Coach is still out sick. I've been busy." Art looked down with embarrassment. He felt stupid for making a big deal out of it. As amusing as Lorelai found it, she thought he was sweet. "You're my friend, Art. I wouldn't just dip like that."
