DHRUVI
I wake up to the comforting warmth of Atharva's embrace, his arms wrapped securely around me. A smile tugs at my lips-this is what I've wanted all along. After countless hurdles and misunderstandings, here we are. I resolve not to leave him or ignore him based on my assumptions anymore. From now on, I'll share my feelings openly because, as everyone says, he can't understand my emotions if I don't express them.
He stirs in his sleep, slowly opening his eyes. When he sees me, he smiles and pulls me closer, his hold tightening around me. "Good morning," he murmurs in a sleepy, husky voice.
"Morning," I reply, feeling a bit self-conscious. I've never liked anyone seeing me first thing in the morning. But with him, maybe it's okclench.
He nuzzles his face into the crook of my neck, his nose brushing against my skin. A giggle escapes me; it's so ticklish. My body feels small and responsive in his embrace. Sometimes I wish I were tall like Aisha, but now, wrapped in his strong arms, I feel content. There's a sense of security being held by the man who always cared for me, the man I can depend on.
I glance at the clock-8 a.m. We need to be at the office by 10 a.m., and while he, as the boss, can afford to be late, I can't. "Umm, Atharva," I say softly.
"Yes, Dhruvi," he murmurs.
"Can you let go of me? I need to freshen up. It's already 8 a.mall.
"But I like this, you in my embrace, so soft and adorable," he says, making me blush so hard I probably resemble a tomato. He pinches my cheeks, adding to my embarrassment.
"Atharva, are you done now?" I ask, feeling shy.
"Nah, but it's okay. You go take a shower," he replies with a grin.
I sit up and head to the bathroom to freshen up, and he goes after me. Finally, with both of us ready, we leave for the office. Surprisingly, he actually arrives at 10 a.m., not like a boss at all.
This was our last day here; we were finally going back to our hometown. Atharva had already left the office, leaving me alone. Wow, and he said he was going to try to be like a husband. But never mind, maybe he actually has some work. I shouldn't assume again.
He sent a driver for me. When I arrived at the farmhouse, I couldn't find him. I called him, "Yes, Dhruvi," he answered.
"When will you come?" I asked with concern.
"Come to the back side of the farmhouse. I'm already here," he said. Is he giving me a surprise? I love surprises. I quickly put my bag down and rushed to the back side.
Damn!
There he was, standing next to a small table with a stove and some veggies and other food items. A couch and a projector setup were also there. The back side was open but had boundaries, creating a cozy, private space. A blanket was spread on the couch. This is so perfect!
