"My baby." Niyati mumbled as soon as she opened her eyes and looked around.
She looked at her bump which reduced a little by now and she was sure there was no baby inside her.
The fear crashed her bones, her heart and a little strength that was left inside her.
The possibility of worst ripped her heart apart and warm water pooled up in her eyes.
"Where's my baby?" Her eyes blurred with tears as she looked at the nurse who was checking the IV.
"Your baby is fine." The nurse told her but how was she supposed to trust someone for her baby?
Her baby wasn't right next to her. She was bleeding when she came to the hospital, she had cramps. What if people around her are just lying to her?
"No, I want to see my baby. Tell me Where's my baby?" Niyati snapped at the nurse as tears rolled down her cheeks and wiping off the tears, she attempted to get up from the bed but the nurse held her by her shoulder.
"First of all. Congratulations. It's a baby girl and the baby was born prematurely, so we have kept her in the neonatal care. She can't be exposed to the outside environment." The nurse told her calmly and she felt a little relief but still she needed to look at her baby.
How was her baby girl doing? Was she breathing? Were these people taking a good care of her?
"I'll call your family." The nurse told before she left the room.
Family? Who was at the hospital at the middle of the night who claimed to be her family? It was just Shivam who came with her.
She looked at the wall clock, it was 5 in the morning. By this time, he might have left. So who were there for her?
Maybe these people misunderstood everything? Maybe her baby was not hers? She held her head as it started bursting out with headache and tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Niyati." She heard the familiar voice and looked up with her blurry vision.
It was Divya and Avantika. A sigh of relief rushed in her veins before she attempted to get up again but was stopped by both of them.
"Aunty, my baby. Please muje mere baby ke pas le chalo." She pleaded and a sob escaped her lips before Divya came and hugged her.
(Please take me to my baby.)
Divya rubbed her back gently as she sobbed harder.
"Meri bachhi? I want to look at her Please..please meri bacchii." She sobbed and clutched to the fabric of Divya's saree.
(My baby.)
"Niyati, your baby is absolutely fine. She's under observation." Avantika assured her and hearing it from someone she knew, she felt like trusting them.
She lifted her head up and looked at both the woman who nodded their head in reassurance.
"Did you see her?" She asked curiously, wiping off her tears.
"Shivam told us. He have seen her and said she's fine. She'd be fine very soon." Divya told her and she furrowed her eyebrows with confusion.
He haven't left yet? He was still here?
