It was the evening when Niyati walked out of her apartment to go for a walk.
The conversation she had with Shivam, the day before drained her mentally and emotionally.
She wasn't blaming him for any of it but a part of her was not ready to accept what was coming for her.
Locking the door of her apartment, she was about to walk to the stairs when her eyes landed on the man standing on the doorstep of the apartment next to her.
Some other people were moving some cartoons inside the apartment.
She saw him looking until his eyes met her and he waved at her with a smile.
She squinted her eyes when he walked to her.
"Good evening Ms. Neighbor." He greeted her, she couldn't help but to furrow her eyebrows in confusion.
"Neighbor?" She questioned.
"Yup. I'm shifting in this apartment. So neighbors." He told her with a proud smile, pointing at the apartment next to her.
"To matalb ab tum Namak, cheeni ke bahane se Ghar me aate rahoge?"
Sarcasm dripping in her words made him chuckle.(So you'll come to my house with an excuse of sugar and salt?)
"Namak cheeni kise chahiye. Muje to aapka dil chahiye, milega?" He muttered under his breath as she furrowed her eyebrows when couldn't hear him clearly.
(Who want salt and sugar. I want your heart. Can I have it?)
"But Aapke dil ke darwaze pe Tala lga rakha hai na. I don't know how many years I'd take me to open the door of your heart." He further added but sealed his lips together when she glared at him.
(But your heart have a lock.)
Without saying a word, she turned around and attempted to walk away when he called her again.
"Vese aap bhi aa sakti Hai. Namak cheeni ke bahane se." He winked at her, making her gasp at the audacity of the man.
(By the way, you can also come with an excuse of Salt and Sugar.)
"I thought you'll learn something after that conversation. But you're." She mumbled, making him smile.
"I have learnt one thing in my life and I'll stick to that." He said and watched her growing curious as she stared at him.
"That never give up on something you love and you want all by your heart. Be it a person or a dream. People and dreams do heal, no matter how wounded they are." She watched him as he spoke and felt something in her heart.
Never give up on something you love? He wasn't giving up on her? Did he mean... she shook her head, she didn't want to think about it.
"It feels good to preach and say intellectual and motivational stuffs. But people and dreams might heal but the scars remain forever to haunt them."
She watched him as he smiled lightly nodding his head.
"But beautiful things in your life fade away those scars but it happens only when you're willing-
"Shivam bhaiya." He couldn't complete his sentence and looked up at the owner of the voice.
He saw his younger brother walking down the stairs and rolled his eyes.
