There was once a story about the gods plaguing the earth with what people have called "Enchantments".
Enchantments were unseen oddities that grew inside a person's soul. These enchantments were undetectable and feeds off a person's heart until fully consumed. Once it starts feeding, the persons heart becomes disturbed until they no longer resemble themselves and they become empty version of themselves.
Or worst, the person would not be able to take it anymore, they would choose to depart from the living, feeling unworthy to be alive.
The gods say that the price of willingly departing from the living did not deserve to join them in their light. Instead, they would be thrown into darkness and their soul would forever be entrapped... forever.
These stories were soon dismissed as we entered the new age. People have discarded them as fairytales. Stories to tell naughty children to get them into bed.
It wasn't true, everyone had decided to declare. That's just an old wives tale, unbelieving children would insist. However, there were people who believe in it's existence. Would they be successful in understanding what enchantments are? Or would they also fall into the same faith?
