Alara took a deep breath as she stood at the entrance of the school, her heart pounding in her chest. It felt surreal to be back, the familiar sight of the school's towering gates filled her with a mix of nostalgia and dread. The other worlds and the hospital wing had become her reality for so long that this return to normalcy seemed almost dreamlike. She glanced down at the scar on her side, a constant reminder of the battles she had fought and the pain she had endured. Can she really go back to how things were? She wondered, the weight of her experiences pressing down on her. Today was a new beginning, but it was also a step into the unknown.

The school grounds were just as she remembered—bustling with students, the air filled with laughter and chatter. Yet, there were subtle changes. New posters adorned the walls, and unfamiliar faces mingled with the old. The courtyard, once her sanctuary, now felt foreign. She noticed the blooming flowers and the freshly painted benches, signs of life moving on without her. Everything looks the same, but it feels so different, she thought, her sense of displacement growing.

"Hey, Alara!" Zach called out, catching up to her as she made her way to her first class. Carmy was right behind him, her usual cheerful self.

"Hi, guys," Alara replied, her voice filled with genuine happiness. "It's so good to see you both."

"We've missed you so much," Carmy said, giving Alara a tight hug. "School wasn't the same without you."

"Yeah, it was way too quiet," Zach added with a grin. "And I don't think I've ever studied this much in my life. You owe me big time for keeping up with your notes."

Alara laughed softly, feeling the warmth of their friendship envelop her. "Thank you both. I don't know what I would have done without you."

As they walked together to their first class, Alara couldn't help but feel a pang of longing for Blake. Zach had been visiting him in the underworld regularly, but Alara hadn't been invited. The thought of Blake recovering without her by his side was almost unbearable. She missed him more than anything and wished she could see him, hold his hand, and reassure him that everything would be okay, but Blake remained in the underworld. Alara held onto the hope that one day, they would be reunited.

Her teachers were understanding, giving her the time she needed to catch up on everything she had missed during her absence. They were curious about her experiences, but they didn't press her to share more than she was comfortable with. It was a relief to Alara, who still found it difficult to articulate the chaos she had endured.

In the hallways and classrooms, Alara felt a strange mix of excitement and apprehension. The familiar faces of her friends—Zach, Carmy, Ash, Lola, and Vlad—provided a comforting presence. They had been her rock during the toughest times, and now they were here, helping her reintegrate into school life.

After the last bell rang, Alara lingered in her seat, waiting for the classroom to empty. She watched as her classmates filed out, chatting animatedly, their laughter echoing in the hallway. Taking a deep breath, she approached Mrs. Elysia's desk. The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the floor, creating a serene yet intense atmosphere. "Mrs. Elysia, do you have a moment?" Alara asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mrs. Elysia looked up from her desk, her eyes warm with curiosity. "Of course, Alara. What can I do for you?" she asked, her tone inviting.

Alara felt a mixture of pride and nervousness bubbling up inside her. "Mrs. Elysia, during my time away, I discovered something. Something... extraordinary," she began, her heart racing. She hesitated, wondering how her teacher would react. "I wanted to tell you in private."

Mrs. Elysia's expression grew serious, her curiosity piqued. She leaned forward, giving Alara her full attention. "Go on, Alara."

"I found out I can control the wind," Alara confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
