You turned over in the bed, only to be greeted with the sound of the bed creaking softly beneath your weight. The scratchy blankets only added to your discomfort, causing you to groan and toss them to the side.

Groggy, you sat up in bed and rubbed your eyes as you looked around. The room was very cold, and you wondered if you had left a window open.

However, as you saw the door, your eyes widened in surprise as you realised that it was wide open, you shot up out of bed a looked around panicked.

Your heart sank as you took in the sight of the broken flimsy lock and the broken pieces on the maroon carpeted floor.

You cant get a second of peace can you?

You cursed yourself silently and began looking around the room once more, searching for anything that was out of place. Everything appeared normal, and you didn't notice anything amiss. The bathroom door stood slightly ajar, and you swallowed thickly as you stepped towards it.

Pushing the door open, you leaned into the room and scanned it. Nothing. It was an empty bathroom as before, and you couldn't help but feel uneasy at the sight of it. You slowly stepped back into the room, a feeling of dread settling in your stomach.

"What the fuck?," you whispered to yourself as you fully entered the room and pulled the shower curtains back to reveal nothing but a serious roach infestation.

"Ugh!" You jumped back and closed the curtains, your eyes darting across the room as you shuddered with disgust.

You walked back into the main room and shivered as more cold air began pouring in and your skin began to crawl. To remedy this issue, you walked over to the door and shut it firmly, placing your duffle bag at the bottom to ensure it remained closed over while you figured out your next move.

Determined to get the strange incident with the lock sorted sooner rather than later, you decided that talking to Cecile was your best option.

Changing into more comfortable and warmer clothes, you convinced yourself that whatever caused the damage to the lock was surely just a result of the strong wind and nothing to worry about, it couldn't have been the men, how would they know you were there?

As you got changed you planned to investigate the smoke you seen coming from the woods. It had been on your mind since last night. Perhaps it was a campfire, maybe a hunting ground, or maybe something more sinister. Whatever it was, you were determined to look into it, it could give you a lead.

You grabbed your camera and slung it around your neck, before pulling your raincoat on and heading out the door. Your room key was no use anymore, and you simply closed it over.

Making your way down the balcony, you felt a sense of unease creeping over you as you saw the old and dusty cars in the parking lot.You shivered from the cold and kept walking.

You entered the quiet reception area and were greeted by Cecile, her toothy smile plastered across her face.

She looked towards you and asked, "Ah, how was your sleep, sweet pea?"

Taking a deep breath, you returned her smile and said, "It was great, I just have one uhh... inquiry?"

Her head tilted, and she looked at you funny as you spoke, raising an eyebrow and waiting for you to continue.

When you continued to stay silent, unable to form many coherent words, she spoke up.

"Well, good lord, what is it, you look shaken up, sweetheart?" Cecile stood up and gently escorted you back towards the dusty chair you had occupied the night prior..
