The two cyborgs left behind the beads of the curtain and closed the door.
Zachary approached a strange console. Pushed a button and every furniture began to tremble.
Out of nowhere, an ultra-dimensional gap opened.
«Wait», said Terry, «weren't ultra-dimensional technologies prohibited?»
Zachary smiled and snorted a donut of smoke: «That's right».
Even Ninetynine gave a little smirk.
The hole started to emit electric sparks that almost frisked their systems; abnormal liquid drops were vanishing in the air gradually while the gap was spinning like a spiral.
Papers on the desk were almost flying away.
From the eye of that storm, slowly came out a woman of white skin, with long and messy hair; white like her labcoat.
«Ehiyo!»
Underneath the long vest, she dressed in a black frac with yellow and long sleeves, splitted by bionic arms entirely silver plated and full of cybernetics.
She wore sunglasses with lenses alternated in red and black, with the vague form of two upside down trapezoids, and she kept a handheld bigger than the tiny pianist hands that brandished it.
In the know of the black tie stood out a little white cross.
«Yes», said Zachary, «you can tell she totally copied my style.»
«Style? What style? I always dress like this!»
«Well, there is some white there», pointed, «and some yellow. And some black. And then the sunglasses... the tie...»
The woman looked at him badly: «We are not of the same shape though!»
The other one smugged: «That's right, and maybe the shoes...»
Indeed she had safety boots.
The two cyborgs took advantage to analyze her deeply: the systems detected she was human too. And she hid, like Zachary, some technologies under her clothes.
Nevertheless, for as much as she seemed the more feminine and white version of the broker, whatever she hid seemed not of this reality: every attempt for analysis was quickly blocked by a system error.
Ninetynine murmured: «Very odd to find firewalls unknown to the government.»
From the other hand, Zachary, laughing, spoke again: «For how much fun I get to see you offended, you should explain the mission to them. They're in a hurry».
The scientist made a puerile grimace.
She hold a handheld and came near.
And eyed them both, highly interested: «Marvelous!»
Then tried to lift Terry's arm, like a stylist taking measures, but he moved it away to not be touched, and the woman stepped back a bit.
She continued to turn around them.
«Two cyborgs of another universe... oooh, I am very very curious to know how you function!»
She changed her trajectory to Ninetynine.
«Another universe?» She was surprised.
The afro-american crossed his arms: «That's right. In the beginning, neither I was that convinced. And yet, after seeing what she's capable of...»
He looked at the console, that had shrunk the ultra-dimensional gap while they were talking.
His face went serious: «But that doesn't matter to you, does it? Still, whether you care or not of her origins, it is our interest to keep them secret. Just like you do with your names. If only the Psychics knew, it would catch their attention and we would have not an easy life.»
«That's all we need...» sighed Terry.
«We have an agreement», clarified Ninetynine.
Zachary looked upon the scientist strolling around them, like he was rebuking her.
«What?»
«Did you check enough?»
«Yes, yes. Satisfying and creative technology, but a bit archaic.»
«Archaic?» Terry was surprised, «maybe mine, but Ninetynine's?»
The scientist nodded, then looked back at the afro-american: «Don't worry, Zach. They have no bug, no gps, no kind of any communication, or link with other devices. Aside for this memory disk, they're "clean".»
«That's my Teradisk. Zachary bypassed the codes and made it untraceable to government satellites.»
«I envy her», lamented the other one, «she has almost infinite weaponry».
The scientist seemed proud to hear that, patting her handheld.
«So, here we are!» She hid her hands and the device in the pockets of the labcoat, «I haven't introduced myself yet: I'm Master! And I'm the best scientist in the world!»
«Ninetynine. And he's Seventyfour.»
«We will not ask questions about who you are», added Terry, «neither we are interested to work long term with you. Just say what we have to do and we'll do it.»
Their customer showed a big smile with wide lips.
«I'm almost touched! This kind of contributors is very rare!»
Zachary laughed.
«Maybe it's because they're not human enough to find out what your true intentions are.»
