I've decided to put this chapter in Rohan's POV cause WHY NOT.

-------------------------------

I sighed. I was in Texas, since some billionaire had decided to stir up trouble.

The billionaire in question, was Lilith Hawthorne.

Nineteen, only Hawthorne sister, CEO, etc.

I remembered watching the video.

"Last time, I was called a devil. The thing is, I have no mercy when it comes to gambling."

That alone, even with the emphasis on devil and mercy, wouldn't have worked.

"Have your fun instead."

However, when you combined that, with the previous phrases, it was enough for me to be sent to offer her a way to get membership.

I got why we were doing that. She was a loose end, and it would be beneficial to have someone as wealthy as her.

But at the same time, she seemed annoying. I would much rather be in London, taking care of people who think they can cheat the House, than dealing with some spoiled rich girl, who probably found out by accident.

I took a breath. No use complaining.

A mask of calmness slipping over me, I exited my car, handing the keys to the valet.

Easily passing the bouncer (bribes work well), I walked in, listening to the chamber orchestra that was playing.

My eyes scanned the crowd.

Of course, everyone was wearing hats. Made my job so much easier.

In case I sounded to sincere, that was sarcasm.

There.

Pale blonde hair stuck out from underneath a cowboy hat. She had a plate full of food, vigorously eating. Next to her, a man, who I determined to be her bodyguard, was copying her actions.

I moved a bit closer. She seemed familiar.

I watched, as the pile of food went down at an alarmingly fast pace.

Even I couldn't eat that fast.

If I'm being honest, I was waiting for her to choke.

She didn't, instead looking around as she paused her eating.

I made sure to tilt my face away.

She started walking around, interacting with guests.

I lingered close enough to eavesdrop, stealthily following her around. The crowd made it easy for me to blend in.

As I listened, my perception of her started changing.

She wasn't a spoiled rich girl.

She seemed more manipulative, egocentric, cunning.

Interesting.

For the next hour or so, I walked around, trying to gain more information.

A few people seemed strangely nervous when I brought her up, as if she had some sort of leverage.

Eventually, she went outside, leaving her bodyguard behind.

That's convenient.

I made sure to wait a few minutes before following.

Stepping into the cool night air, I looked around. A figure leaned against a tree, thirty or so meters away.

I started to walk over, making sure to keep my footsteps light.
