"Thanks for meeting us, daddy." Veronica tells him as me and Betty sit with her at a table in the speakeasy.
"I understand I missed quite the fight earlier." Daddy tells us.
"That's not why we asked you here." I tell him.
"Betty has a favor she wants to ask you." Veronica tells daddy.
"Mr. Lodge, my dad is incarcerated, two hours away, in a windowless cell. It's a horrible place, and he heard about your facility, and how some of the cells even have views of Sweetwater River." Betty tells daddy.
"Yeah, the waterfront rooms. They're quite peaceful." Daddy tells her.
"He would like to be transferred to one. And I thought since you owned the place, maybe you could help." Betty tells him.
"Think of the publicity." I tell daddy.
"I'll see what I can do." Daddy tells Betty. *** "I posted your bail as quickly as I could." I tell Archie and Mad Dog as I stand on the outside of the cell.
"Thanks, Q." Archie tells me as he and Mad Dog walks out of the cell once opened.
"We'll pay you back." Mad Dog tells me.
"That's the least of our problems. Elio's been busy." I tell them. *** "...now that Randy Ronson's autopsy has revealed the ugly truth." Elio says on TV.
"And what truth is that?" Alice asks.
"That he was indeed taking performance enhancing drugs provided by his competitor Archie Andrews." Elio tells her and I turn off the TV.
"This is nuts. Elio's the one who gave Randy the drugs." Archie tells me.
"That's impossible to prove." I tell him.
"He's setting me up to take the fall, Q. Am I screwed?" Archie asks.
"Not with me in your corner. I'm going to put Elio in his place. But first we need to play defense." I tell him.
"How do we do that?" Mad Dog asks.
"First you boys need to drink up." I tell them as I push cups towards them. *** "I am pleased to announce that the results of the drug test taken by Archie Andrews and Mad Dog Moore have both come back negative. As the investigation into the horrible death of Randy Ronson continues--" I tell the press as me, Archie and Mad Dog stand outside of Pops and I get interrupted by Randy's family.
"He murdered our brother." Ms. Ronson tells me.
"Ms. Ronson, I assure you that Archie didn't--" I tell her before she cuts me off again.
"You should fry for what you did." Ms. Ronson tells Archie.
"Ms. Ronson, believe me, if I could take back what--" Archie tells her before she slaps him.
