Rengoku pov
Rengoku woke up that fallowing day, worry filled his body, he felt something had been off, everything seemed more quiet then usual.
He stood quickly as he did some
Cleaning around the estate, although it was Uzui estate Rengoku wanted it to be clean for his return.
Rengoku did his best to keep his mind off everything, he cleaned, cooked food for himself and even went out for a walk around the Wisteria forest.

Despite his attempts, Rengoku found himself unable to get his mind off that terrible feeling, so he decided on visiting the other hashira, although retired, the master still allowed his visit since it brought comfort.
Rengoku walked the path to the estates and meeting ground, the hashira often spent time around there in case of meeting calls or missions.
As rengoku entered the estate areas he found it to be extremely silent, almost unnerving.

Rengoku wanted to leave, it felt unsettling, that was until he heard familiar voices.
He quickly turned and walked in the direction of the voices, as he approached he was met with sanemi and iguro seemingly chatting about something.
Rengoku:hello!!! It's a good thing to see you two are doing well as always!
Iguro glanced at sanemi who simply scoffed.

Sanemi:yeah, we are perfectly good man, couldn't say the same about SOME hashira though
Both men seemed amused at the comment as they laughed to one another.
Rengoku found nothing amusing, thoughts flooding into his head as he did his best to keep his composure and steady himself.
Rengoku:ah!- what do you mean by that? Did I miss something??
Both hashira looked to one another with slightly confused and surprised looks.

Iguro:I'm surprised you didn't hear honestly, it's all the hashira are talking about
Sanemi:yeah
Rengoku felt his heart speeding rapidly, adrenaline coursed through him and he became slightly uneasy and a bit shaky.
Rengoku💭what happen?! Who got hurt?!?
Rengoku simply plastered a smile as he nodded a simple "no" to get a better explanation.
Rengoku:I'm sorry! Mind explaining?
Iguro shrugged and laughed a bit.

Sanemi:well from what we heard, uzui had a run in with a uppermoon
Rengoku suddenly felt his breath caught in his throat as he choked on it, his eyes widen and his smile faltered, his word felt as if was shattering bit by bit.
Millions of scenarios flooding into his mind endlessly as he tried desperately to grasp at any control he had left.

Iguro:yeah, he got his ass whooped
Sanemi:serves the bastard right, always acting better then everyone, remind me of giyuu- pisses me off.
Rengoku smile fell as he felt something boil to the surface, a vain appearing on his face as his eyes narrowed and his posture and body became stern and unmoving.
His voice no longer within noticeable hearing as he fell dead silent.
Neither hashira seemed to noticed as they continued their insults and talk of the battle and what they've heard.

Sanemi:I heard the "flashy" bastard lost a arm or some shit, supposedly fell into a coma
rengoku felt as if he lost all sense of control, he reached out grabbing roughly ahold of sanemi and slamming him into a tree, sanemi reacted quickly and blocked his head as he reached for his sword, iguro was beyond stunned as he quickly jolted backward taking a fighting stance.
Sanemi:WHAT THE FUCK!! What's gotten into you!!!!💢
Sanemi screamed out as he tried hard to shrug Rengoku away, Rengoku was unmoving and almost demonic.

Rengoku:I know I don't have the strength to fight you both, but I'll be DAMNED if I sit here and listen to you talking shit about someone who could be on their DEATH BED!! Do you have no GOD DAMN DIGNITY!!! You DISGUST me.
Rengoku words where harsh and like venom, he stair was even more unnerving and unsettling.
Sanemi was beyond surprised as he had never seen such hatred or anger in Rengoku.
Iguro eyes where wide in slight worry but also surprise at how quickly and suddenly Rengoku seemed to change into another person all together.

Rengok:uzui could be dying, and you stand here talking about him like he's scum. He caught a uppermoon- he does this damned job to help the weaker, that's why most of us do this!!! And you stand here disgracing his name!!! You are no better! If he's nothing then you are worse then nothing!! You are FILTH.
If it was someone you loved you wouldn't utter a word. Now would you??
Rengoku gave a almost icey cold smile.
Sanemi eyes widen as anger boiled up at the statement.

Sanemi:you bastard. I should just beat your ass!!
Rengoku simply smiled coldly, iguro hesitant to jump in as he watched closely in case something happened.
Rengoku:have a good day!
He simply said as he seemed almost to switch again, his eyes softening as he let go and turned walking away, his hand the only thing clinched showing his still anger.
Sanemi was unsure of how to react so he only shot glares as he dusted himself angrily.

Rengoku quickly walked away heading right for the butterfly mansion.
As he approached he was met with a familiar butterfly hashira.
Shinobu:ah!! Why hello Rengoku-San!! I am pleased to see you are well!!
Rengoku only smiled weakly and nodded.
Shinobu picked up quickly on the oddities as her expression became a bit more serious and she sighed.
Shinobu:you where not suppose to find out- but I assume you've heard from another hashira already what happen to uzui?
Rengoku simply nodded as he fallowed Shinobu to sit.
Shinobu:well- it is true, uzui-San received terrible injuries, it was a miracle he is even breathing, nezuko seemed to have stopped the poison that was in his system, but he was still severely wounded and lost lots of blood, the damage he sustained is severe.
Rengoku smile faltered more as his gaze fell, suddenly he felt like a child again.

Those terrible memories, how he use to feel so useless and unable to do anything, it was true though, he was unable to do anything.
Shinobu:I didn't wanna worry you, you have your own recovery to worry about, and I know you two where close with one another, I didn't wanna worsen your health mentally, I was gonna wait until I could give better news- but I suppose you would've found out either way. I'm sorry Rengoku..
Her own smiled faulted a bit, she knew well what it felt like to plaster one on, desperately trying to hide what wants to spill out constantly.
Rengoku only nodded weakly keeping his gaze down mostly.
Rengoku:will I be able to visit him?..
Shinobu gave a remorseful smile almost sad as she shook her head.

Shinobu:I'm sorry Rengoku-San, but you are not family or spouse, so you cannot be allowed in...I'm sorry...but I could keep you updated on his condition and when he's well enough you can visit..
Rengoku felt his world crumbling, tears prickled the corner of his eyes as he widen his smile desperate to keep it together, his hand gripping tightly at his pants as he dug his fingers into his leg.
He needed to distract himself- somehow.
Rengoku only nodded and let out a small sigh.
Rengoku:that would be great! Thank you.
He said in an almost weaker tone, his voice seeming to have a crack to it as he choked back tears.

Once finished he stood and walked to the room uzui was in, he sat down beside the door, he curled into himself hugging his knees to his chest.
How could he be so damn close and still not capable of doing anything?..
He felt tears pooling at his eyes as his smile cracked and fell, he gripped tightly at himself hugging himself closely.
The tears unable to stop as it seemed to fall like rain, his body shaky and uneasy.
His breath shaky and broken.

He felt like he was being drowned, the tears choking him and stealing his oxygen as he desperately gasped for it silently.
His heart crumbling.
He couldn't lose uzui- he.

He loved him..
